Thanks for posting that, it was useful.

@Presque Welcome to the thread and to the site! I agree with ignoring the huge blocks of test, particulary the last questions. I was running short on time and wanted to answer the grid ins so I just blew past the last few questions, looking for a few key words and then half-guessing and I ended up getting most of the those right (last ~6).

anyone understand #11 on the practice cb AP bio exam and why the answer is A?

Hey guys, this is my first time posting on this thread and I was just wondering if anyone had a solid list of the experiments that we need to be familiar with?

are all of the exams the same for the testing tomorrow?

@conflictedb3, refer to REA book I posted

It’s towards the end
@mattsmats
For number 11, its a dehydration reaction (if you think back to the beginning of the year), so you know two things: water (H2O) has to be released, and you also know that the c and n terminus all face the same direction (known fact, not implied). With the second fact you can eliminate b, c, and d, which I guess leaves you with a, or you could look it as one gives the H and the other gives the OH and A is the only possibility for that either. Hope that explanation helped.

Do we do the MC in pencil and FRQs in pen…? Sorry if this is a dumb question; this is my first AP test.

^yes #2 pencil black or blue pen :)

Do you guys think reading Cliffsnotes (4th edition) is enough to earn a 5? I can only recall bits and pieces of information, because my teacher’s instruction style wasn’t very organized; her teaching confused everyone! I’m desperate to earn a good grade. What do I do? How do I cram? Help?! I mostly understand evolution and ecology, and to some extent, cells. But I barely comprehend photosynthesis, cellular respiration, and cell division. Am I screwed?

“be specific as to which processes and molecules
are most likely to be directly affected”

Really, College Board?

FRQ’s _____
Let’s see what happens. Really lacklustre prep. Gonna end with Ecology, Animal Behaviour, and Evolution and hope for the best tomorrow. The 2013 test change, WHY US?!?!?!

Oh and if this is any consolation for the American test takers, the test is 5 hours away in Pakistan. :O

What’s hard about it is its not asking for SPECIFICS, its ASKING for specifics, as in “Give me specifics.” It’s similar to the multiple choice, which they give you specifics, and you have to understand the concept. In the FR, they don’t give you anything and you still have to understand the concept, but fill in some details. Everyone’s overthinking them. If you can answer the MC farily easily then the FR should be simple. Read the grading criteria very carefully to see exactly what they’re looking for.

give an example, if you could

I’m soooooooooo scared for tomorrow!!!
I’m just watching bozeman videos now! No point of testing myself now, already did the practice exam. There’s nothing left to do and I feel like I still don’t know anything. Ugh.

hey, person from Pakistan, after you’re done taking the test, can you, like, send us all the hard questions and free responses…

@outgunned The main example is question 1: what processes will be affected. Photosynthesis and then plant will die… then take it one step farther to infer cellular respiration…anything more is overthinking.
3 steps, state the main point, expand one step, and then describe overall consequences, don’t get into anything specific in any of these.

Okay. I’m taking the REA book down now, I don’t want to have it up too long. So DOWNLOAD it if you haven’t already. You can save it on your computer, I just don’t want it floating on the internet as it is copyrighted. If you want to put it up that’s okay, and if you read this after I take it down, I can put it up again temporarily if you missed downloading it.

Does anyone find shmoop helpful? Im not sure if the practice tests are like the real exam.

@ jonhs123 How did you even find that? you helped me so much!! THANKS!!!
