As far as studying is concerned, I found that viewing bozemanscience’s playlist titled “AP Biology Essentials,” provided a REALLY good overview of most course material. Aside from that, having a good review guide, in my case Cliffs, helped clarify some ideas not found in the video series. After completing the series and looking through the review book, going to the official curriculum framework and scanning for concepts I didn’t know, then learning the concepts, allowed me to get a great understanding of almost anything that could be on the test. However, I’m more of a visual learner and this is what worked for me… you may be different in how you learn. Finally, I’d imagine that updated review books, not the current ‘revised’ review books, but ACTUAL revised books, will be on the market before the 2015 AP Biology exam. Nevertheless, reviewing material as if you were preparing for the previous curriculum’s exam would probably be really beneficial as doing so really gives you the knowledge that is necessary for the new exam, an exam which calls for the application of knowledge rather than the recollection of it

I got a 5 on the exam. I’m shocked, I had no idea what I was doing on that trichome density question!

Even if you aren’t on the west coast, you can view your scores today. Here’s how:

1) Go to firefox 2) Go to Preferences 3) Go to advanced 4) Go to Network 5) Click on Settings 6) Click on Manual Proxy 7) In the HTTP bar put in this number: 199.19.224.98 and in the port next to it, type in 80

Now you ALL can see scores for the exam by just logging in

I got a 3! Of course I want a higher score but I’m quite happy with a 3. I didn’t finish around 5 multiple choice questions and had so much trouble on the math questions for whatever reason. =P~
Anyways, I’ll get credit for the class at the schools I’m looking into! And congrats @235423!
And I used the iOS app OpenDoor and it worked for me!

Good job 235423! I got a 4 when I was hoping for a 5 :(

I’m going to let this disappointment serve as a lesson for future ap exams. Your ap exam score is determined by the strategy you have for the class and the ap exam. If you walk in expecting the teacher to go over everything, expect a score lower than you like. If you decide to take extra time to learn how the test works, you will be well prepared. Do not cram all of the information into the last week. That time should be spent prepping for essays. For ap bio, you don’t really even need to memorize information, as all of the MC are analysis where they will give you background info.

Hopefully my ap exam scores will be better for junior and senior year!

I am really disappointed in my 4. I thought the exam was tremendously easy and weird… FRQ Question 1 seemed like an AP Stats question to me. I even conquered the A&P! I don’t know where I went wrong. But with only 6.5% getting a 5, I think the grading is a little not fair.

@manrushi
Only 6.5% got a 5? Where did you get that info?
12.7% of test takers got 5 last year.

@StevenToCollege Trevor Packer, a college board exec, tweeted all of the score distributions for each exam. And last year only 5% of people got a 5.

@2016bostonian
Hmmm… That’s strange.
The official report from College Board stated that it’s 12.7% in 2013.

@StevenToCollege that is weird; this document says it’s 5% http://media.collegeboard.com/digitalServices/pdf/research/2013/STUDENT-SCORE-DISTRIBUTIONS-2013.pdf

@2016bostonian
I think your data, 5.5%, was more realistic.
It looked like 12.7% was for U.S. public schools only.

@StevenToCollege it could have been that the 12.7% was for the class of 2013, so it averaged the scores from several years.

@feedbacker did you use prep books to study? Did you have a class or self-study? and for how long did you study, or any resources you used that were helpful?
