OFFICIAL AP Calculus BC 2012 Test Thread

lol yes alternating series. If you did nth term test it should be zero (since top would just be 1 and bottom would be infinity). 0 tells you nothing for our purposes.
Last I checked you do lose points for leaving off “dt” (which I almost did) because then the integrand is incorrect (since it tells you what is the variable)

Just a tip for current/future students: using the PR book by itself will not get you prepared for the exam. It is intended as a supplement to a regular course textbook (which should be the basis for most of the studying).

Dudeeeeeeee that was hard. I feel like I’m the only one that thought that it was difficult. The MC seemed very different from the previous year’s questions. I’m sad there was no area, volume, and cross section FRQ. I’m afraid I didn’t get a 5.

Whoa! I’m not 100% sure the embargo has been lifted yet… ChiragBharadwaj, you might want to consider deleting your post just in case…

Haha good idea. Let me copy+paste it until about two hours from now. :)

There was a question on the international test that seemed suspiciously like the alternating series test thing you guys are talking about. Unfortunately, it was by far my worst FRQ. :stuck_out_tongue: I’m hoping to make up for it with my strong scores on all the other FRQs - I actually believe I got a 9 on FRQs #1 and #4. #2 was probably an 8 because I ran out of time (grr!), #3 was probably also an 8 (not confident about just one answer), and #5 was most likely a 6-7.

I thought that MC1 was challenging but not too bad, MC2 was hard. All FR was easy though I was not exactly sure on 3 sub questions. Also, FR part 1 was really quick, but I had a ton of time after FR part 2.

Did anyone not get any e’s for MC2?

I had maybe 5 E’s for the second MC section… then again, take this with a grain of salt because our test versions were different. :P

Did anyone get alot of bs in a row on the second mc section?

I originally had no e’s for mc2 but when i went to recheck everything i found there was one e.

was yours form O?

i have no clue lol.

Yep, it was form +

I thought the multiple choice was medium difficulty to somewhat difficult. The free response seemed almost suspiciously easy (easiest free response yet to me).

O I mean…

i thought it was pretty easy too. but then again, i have a really, really good teacher. its practically impossible to scrape up an A in the class, but almost everyone gets a 5 on the ap exam.

I take back what I said. >.> I don’t remember how many E’s I had for MC2, actually. I do remember there was at least one instance where there were two of them in a row - but my memory is more stale because I took the test 12 hours ahead of the rest of you. :P

Ugh, I missed the series FRQ. I didn’t write down the interval, just the radius -.-
Other than that, the test went super well. Much, much easier than I expected.

Now to take on AP Literature… oh god…

Loved FR #4. The answers checked themselves for you.
