How did you guys do the area enclosed by the polar graph one? What I did was that I took the integral of 3 squared (so 9) from pi/6 to 5pi/6 times 1/2 and I subtracted it from integral of 1/2 r^2 from pi/6 to 5pi/6 (forget what r was, it was whatever the other function was) and I got 3.5656. Is that correct???

Oh and just out of curiosity, are tests of different forms indicated by the letter that appears on the front cover? So for example, are all the O forms the same version of the test? Or is it same questions with different orders? Because someone with form O told me that his second-to-last question was a question that I had earlier in the test (same part, of course).

No the form doesn’t tell the version of the test. We had to write our test code if you remember and I can’t remember exactly what the letters were but it was something like NRJP and some people had NRJR. Those aren’t the right letters but you get the idea.

@Korean, that’s how I did the polar curve area problem as well. I believe its correct, so hopefully we can scrape together at least a few points from that question :)

yeah that’s what i did. I just took the area of 2/3 of the circle + the integral of 4+2sin theta from parameters pi/6 to 5pi/6 times half. But when I saw the polar calc free response I was about to punch someone. “WHY??? I F***ING HATE YOU COLLEGEBOARD” Buttttt… the noncalculator free responses were a piece of cake, I’m fully confident that as long as I didn’t make any dumb mistakes, I aced that section.

Hey guys, idk why but my teacher said sometimes the cutoffs were as high as 85 out of 108 and as low as like a 60 out of 108, so whats your guys’ opinions on what the scoring cutoff will be for a 5??? any ideas???

btw, i hate how they made this exam so much harder than the 2012 one, i took the 2012 one like in a full exam situation at my school and got like a 94.8 out of 108, and after this exam for 2013 i didnt feel that well especially with that polar question and other obscure crap they put on there. I swear to god i will be ****ed if i dont get a 5. did anyone else feel like this?

Im not bragging im just wondering if anyone else had a similar experience for this test compared to the 2012 one. besides, that score i got means nothing anyways lol, feel like an idiot now?

For BC the cutoff in 2003 was 67 and in 2008 it was 69 (this is based on the new May 2011 AP grading policy). I doubt that the cutoff for this year will go up or down more than 3 or 4 points, since there seemed to be several different FRQs, some easy, some difficult.

There will not be a better curve this year. The non-calculator multiple choice was relatively easy, but the calculator multiple choice and free response were very easy.

Strangely enough I’m drawing different conclusions… The frqs for me were hard. I’ve obivously studied polar coords but this question seemed harder for some reason than other official AP polar questions. And the Taylor question shouldn’t have been hard to me, but it was written different than I was used to. Praying for a 4. :-/.

(I only think I got like 7 MC wrong for what it’s worth. Don’t see how people thought FRQs were harder)

Yeah the 2012 exam had very straightforward and easy questions. 2013 was much more difficult. Also you can’t compare the difficulty to college confidential kids who are geniuses, but all test takers in the u.s. my guess for the 5 cutoff is 62/63
