@dsi411: My body is used to lack of sleep, unfortunately. The stress of the moment will (hopefully) keep me awake as well.
To those pulling an all-nighter: I recommend you drink some energy drinks or coffee in the morning, and get yourself pumped for the exam - Pretend like the material is incredibly exciting and interesting. Trust me, you won’t be that tired during the test.
I usually only sleep an hour during finals… The stress keeps me from sleeping. It’s sorta good that I can study but I’ll be tired tomorrow for sure. You guys who are staying up too… Just make sure you sleep one hour. Sleep right before the sun come up and wake up when the sun is shining, because I read somewhere that you are essentially tricking your brain into thinking that it slept and woke up as normal.
I would highly recommend NOT pulling an all nighter. You will be surprised by the things you know. Just an anecdote but I usually get 3-6 hours of sleep at night and been getting low ones and twos on these things in class but when I slept 12 hours I got a mid 3 on the hardest one. Your brain works a lot better with sleep
Like obviously you aren’t gonna feel the same but have some refreshing sleep… After all, sleep helped in memory retention
I’m just playing 21 guns on repeat to help me stay awake and study. At thermal equilibrium, energy lost is always equal to energy gained? Just the actual temperature differs?
@JuicyMango I’m gonna look up that song right now, haha
Also you guys I turned the fan on to make my room a bit cooler, and I’m chewing gum. I’ll chew the same type tomorrow when taking the test too
How about breakfast? Do you guys eat a certain type of breakfast before a test. I want to make an omelette but I fear all that food will make me sleepy. If I don’t make an omelette I’ll just have a breakfast shake.
@dsi411 I think you should eat what you usually eat or if you don’t eat, don’t. Don’t do out of the ordinary things. I don’t eat breakfast and it’s fine for me so I won’t eat tommorow. Breakfast doesn’t contribute to mental alertness or anything like that it’s just a wives tale perpetuated by school. I ate eggs onetime before a test and learned that I was intolerant to eggs and threw up during the test. not fun.
Anything with carbs makes me just wanna curl into a ball and sleep…l like today I was trying to study but I had noodles for lunch and I totally knocked out. It was such a fail… My breakfast is usually a fruit smoothie with some chocolate in it. Also during the break in between, eat some chocolate, it will give you energy to finish up that part 2.
OH, LAST MINUTE QUESTION, GUYS… WHAT ARE THE UNITS FOR ABSORBANCE (all of A=abc … I know c is M, but merp…) Eat regular breakfasts, guys! Don’t try anything new tomorrow :P!
@Newdle According to this, there are none:
https://uk.■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■■/question/index?qid=20061018151521AAIBvPP
@dsi411 Yeah, I’ve been reading that too :P… How does abc cancel units, though?
I don’t know…but in the practice FRQ I did from PR there were no units either. So you shouldn’t worry about it.
Finally got around to taking the practice MC in my my PR book… only got a 31/60 yikes. I know that’s a passing MC score but it worries me because the FR will be totally hit or miss for me I’m sure. Lowkey freaking out lmao
Good luck guys
Yes good luck everyone. Let’s rock this.
Also try not to listen to any music on the way to school, or it might be stuck in your head for the whole test and get super distracting That’s all I have to say, have a good night’s rest everyone!
@Newdle c is defined as path length^-1 * M^-1 so the units cancel nicely. Also, considering A, as absorbance, log(P0/Pf), where P0 is initial radiating power (roughly intensity) and Pf is final, the units cancel and A is unitness. In considering the unitlessness of K, it is more troublesome with activity, but beer lambert is pretty straightforward
