Official AP Chemistry Thread (2014-2015)

@JuicyMango yeah I’m talking about the SAT tests… I have to cancel them by Wednesday so they don’t show up on my record. I will never know what I got either but I plan on retaking them.

I’m not sure if you can redo an AP… I’m pretty you can…

To be honest I don’t think I’m gonna practice tests tonight… I’m just rereading a quick summary of everything.

Gahhhh I don’t even know how or wat to review rn LOL XD

Hmmmm should I review for Chem or switch over to Calc LOL i need an outside opinion!

Calc is way hard IMO.

Chem!! Since it’s tomorrow … Or if you’re a senior and you’re not majoring in chem, study for calc.

Chem, 10% of people get 5s, compared to almost 50% for Calc BC.

Who here is doing an all-nighter?

Just wanted to say this to everyone doing chemistry tomorrow that above studying til the early morning or drinking a ton of coffee before the test or anything else is that the best thing to do (atm ~8:50 p.m.) is to go to sleep soon.

You have got ready all year for tomorrow and other than reviewing a few memorizing things (strong acids and bases or something) that NOT being tired will far outweigh any hardcore studying you do tonight. If you have prepared enough for your goal score then you should be good to go. Its a test and nothing more/less. You know exactly what to expect; how many questions and how much time and hopefully you know where to go and what to bring and in general know the questions you might expect.

If you are feeling nervous try your best routine to be as calm as possible; freaking out rarely benefits you.

Read the questions and just think in your head of stuff which relates to it. For the first frq question if it says hcl in 100 ml is mixed with (insert weak base here) then you can think “oh snap hcl is a strong acid and (blah blah) is a weak base oh BUFFERS TITRATIONS rite rite” and remember your rice charts and just salvage as many points as possible.

You will give up some points; you will NOT know every single answer immediately. Put something down and move on if you have to.

GL to all people doing chemistry and I am going to go get all my pencils for tomorrow and sleep. 1st AP test no problem.
GL.

@JuicyMango not me, last year I had same predicament and ended up procrastinating till 2 am for my apes test (exactly 1 year ago haha) and didnt know shit and just went in yoloing it, left 1/3 blank, slept and got a 3. I will do the same thing this year but sleep earlier

@JuicyMango I am for sure. Problem is, I might accidentally fall asleep, then have a panic attack tomorrow morning… So you guys have any tips for staying up?

@juicymango me for sure, I’m so behind. I couldn’t sleep anyway, too nervous lol

btw didn’t see post before lol that contrast :stuck_out_tongue:

@dasani12345 I wish my teacher was good… She didn’t help us at all. I, stuck here fending for myself now

I just got back from Walmart. Time to study.

Here is some things I would think would help guys and girls, when you get your frq write this stuff down
STRONG ACIDS (BrICL Clo4 So4 No3) (easy way to remember is this sentence- Brickle clo so 4 no 3, like a kid saying brickle is close to age 4 no 3, idk if that will help) STRONG BASE- group 1 and 2 OH and soluble salts - group 1 and ANA- ammonia nitrates and acetates? Correct me if I am wrong because this is from memory

@justhanginthere: I walk around every once in a while, splash water on my face, and drink a frappuccino drink for the caffeine to stay awake all night.

My teacher said frq possibility may contain thermodynamics/acid base eq/ and electrochemistry, any thoughts?

How will you guys stay awake during the test if you stay up all night?

@Necrosympath Probably. Those are pretty common subjects on the FRQs.
