***OFFICIAL AP Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism 2014-2015***

@HughHuang96824 Yeah for FR2 the last few things I got counter-clockwise, and I did do what you did to find the current :).

BTW: for the first frq, form M b, ii, you got I=.12e^-TR/L, and I’m not sure if I did too I don’t really remember what I got for the coefficient. But for the exponent, -TR/L, couldn’t you substitute in the R and L values since they were given? R was 200 ohms and L was like 0.5 Henries I believe. Lol I remember the only variable I had in my exponent was T for time, but idk I might have gotten it wrong but idk it’s a silly small error, probably would’ve gotten -1 or something for that.

I actually used R1 and put R1=200ohm aside. Since L is given, I think it’s ok to have it in the equation.

@HughHuang96824 Oh… okay cool. Lol what did you get for the one that asked for the current through R1 after a long period of time? It was part of the first FRQ.

@InductiveCurrent After a long time, the inductor becomes a wire and makes a short circuit. So I = V/100ohm = 12/100=0.12 that’s why I put 0.12 as the coefficient.

For the question asking dissipated energy, I came up with (I^2)R and 0.5LI^2 at the same time. Then I ended up writing down 0.5(I^2)R. HOLY MOLY!

Do you know what form was released online? Did a lot of people have those questions, because I had a different form.

form O is posted online.

hey I’m taking the late version of E&M. Mechanics this year allowed a calculator and gave formulas for the multiple choice, did E&M do the same?

Yes, you get the formula sheet and a calculator for the whole test.

how plausible is it to take e+m while concurrently take mechanics? any how would I study for E+m?

I would not recommend taking E&M concurrently with Mechanics as a course, although it is definitely possible to take the two exams during the same year. What is offered in my school, is an overall AP Physics C course, where Mechanics is taught the first semester (Sept-Jan) and E&M is taught second semester (Jan-May). Some of the concepts in E&M require a bit of mechanics knowledge beforehand, although most of it is independent. Also, before taking either of the AP Physics C exams, you should definitely have a strong grasp of calculus.

Oh boy. I signed up for this course in my class as part of a full-year AP Physics C course (it does mechanics first semester and E&M second). So to prepare for this along with the subject test in October, I’m self-studying during the summer. So far, it’s working well! I’m using Princeton Review, and it is a great one the use (I heard it’s the best one). Also, thank you Dan Fullerton. You are a genius!

Of course, that’s just my self-study. I’m not sure about the class though. It should be fun, but interesting.

I took Mechanics and E&M concurrently as opposed to the “standard” semester schedule, but our schedule was ridiculous to the point where we crammed ALL of Magnetism in 3 weeks (I don’t recommend that at. all.). If you do take E&M and Mechanics together, it’s really beneficial to have prior experience (Physics B/1/2/whatever you have) as that saved my butt in E&M. It’s possible, I got 5’s on both Mech and E&M, and I wish you guys the best of luck!

E&M in three weeks LOL! “Let’s take the hardest course in high school… and teach it at the quickest pace possible!”

@Kyuutoryuu definitely the worst 3 weeks of high school ever. Either way, it gets me out of Physics 1 and 2 in college. No complaints there!
