I’m going to bomb the essays, it’s inevitable. I’m trying to compensate by acing the MC. I’m reading the entire crash course from Tuesday to Thursday night while doing practice exams in between to gauge my progress. According to AP Pass, 60/80 and 5/5/5 is good enough for a 5.

What are the main predictions for the essays? I’ve heard antebellum era and post-civil war industry are quite likely.

I’m also taking this test and I personally would enjoy essays on the following:

Colonies: reasons for establishment, society and politics, religion, etc.

Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Madison

Causes to the civil war or domestic events such as bleeding Kansas and dredd Scott

Roaring twenties in general

Vietnam war

Counterculture and hippies

Btw those who need essay help: in my case, I feel confident about writing and it comes out naturally, but what I do is to look over the AP central essays and answer each question in bullets, like if it were my outline - that way I can be sure if I can answer the question without actually doing it - hope it helps, it certainly did help me with AP art history last year

A bit late, but thank you very much, AdrLan, for the great upload!

Personally, for the FR, I just go on AP Central and do those tests. If I’m short on time, I’ll just do a quick outline (rule of three) and make sure I could write the essay if I had to. Our teacher was good at making sure we knew how to write the essays, so all I have to do is to make sure I can come up with the information.

I don’t think I’m gonna do well on this test

My APUSH teacher is in “cahoots” with a teacher friend of hers from across the nation, who has had quite accurate success in predicting the DBQ’s each year. This year, she is predicting:

War of 1812
Supreme Court Cases 1800-1900
Cuban Missile Crisis

My history teacher is praying for and predicting Reconstruction, as it hasn’t been selected for an extremely long time, if ever. If it is Reconstruction, THANK THE LORD I WILL GET A 9. However, there’s also a large group expecting War of 1812.

Also, for a recent assignment, we had to memorize all forty-four presidents’ first and last names along with the years of their terms. I memorized them in just over half an hour last night. For me, THIS REALLY HELPS. It’s like installing a timeline in your mind. It really helps keep track of events, particularly assassinations, resignations, etc.

If one of the essays is on suburbanization I will be so unbelieveably happy.

Also, looking at what you just said (^^^) I would FAIL the DBQ… my teacher literally did not teach the Cuban Missile Crisis, I don’t remember enough supreme court cases, and I’m still a touch fuzzy on the war of 1812… well now I know what I need to focus on!

Oh! Almost forgot, the Presidential Revolution of 1800, from Adams to Jefferson. She’s predicting that as well.

So my teacher never actually made us write an FRQ all year. She just assumes we can do it. Also, we just started learning about Vietnam and counterculture today. So that’s fun.

I could not feel less prepared. Thank goodness for the Internet and Princeon Review.

@Jordan: My teacher(s) are predicting a colonial government one - Articles/Constitution, along with the classic cultural change during the 1890s/robber barons FRQ.

I can confirm that your teacher’s not the only one who’s predicting a Reconstruction essay, though.

EDIT: Oh yeah, forgot to say that I just took a multiple choice test, finished in 30 minutes, and scored a 71/80. Awwww yeah.

@JordanSaidWhat: Are your teacher’s predictions for international kids as well??? I REALLY REALLY hope the DBQ this year is on War of 1812!!! If it’s on the Cuban Missile Crisis, I’m gonna fail… :(:(:(:(

Cuban missile crisis? FUUU… D:

anyone know wat the predicted FRQ and DBQ might be for this year’s exam?

This is a compiled list for the DBQ
-War of 1812
-Supreme Court Cases 1800-1900
-Cuban Missile Crisis
-Presidential Revolution of 1800, from Adams to Jefferson
-Progressive Era

The War of 1812 and the Progressive Era seem to be one of the two things people are leaning towards.

Does anyone know the order in which railroads, steamboats, turnpikes, canals, and clipper ships emerged during the 18/1900s? I never get this right on multiple choice tests. :(

^ Not 100% but…

1.Clipper Ships
2.Turnpikes 1790 with PA
3.Steamboats Robert Fulton 1807
4.Canals Erie Canal in 1820s
5.Railroads

I seriously hope it’s the Progressive Era!!

How are you guys studying? I’m going through the entire crash course book in the next couple days.

Currently up to the American Revolution.

That’s what I’m doing =p

Plus, tons of practice tests (=
