***OFFICIAL AP US History Thread 2013-2014***

@Beckett I chose that option too. I kind of ■■■■■■■■■■■ it though. Probably my weakest essay.

@Beckett‌ it said did the goals of the reconstruction in 1865-1877 succed by 1900, so you could use PLessy v Ferguson of 1896 since it was before 1900.

I’m a little nervous about my DBQ. I included all ten of the documents, but my outside information may be a little weak. I mentioned the Stimson Doctrine, the Kellog-Briand Pact (which was included in one of the documents, but I went into more detail), the Marshall Plan, Truman Doctrine, the Nye Committee, etc. Afterwards, I talked to some of my classmates and they said they wrote extensively about nativsm (the Palmer Raids, McCarthyism, etc.). I didn’t think that that stuff was very applicable to foreign policy so I didn’t mention it.

@Beckett I wrote about the Whigs and democrats. I was surprised because I don’t think anyone who I knew did that. I found it to be easier. I remember mostly everything during that time. I think I probably gotten a 4 or 5 on it.

Does anyone have the link to a google docs with the mc?

guys, so for FRQ 3 with the whigs vs democrats, I wrote a solid first part on the federal government and economic portion. however, i mixed up and said the democrats supported the social reforms and not the whigs, even though that was only a small part of my essay. I then proceeded to talk about abolition/education and the eventual splitting of the whigs over the issue.

if my first economic part as well as thesis and stuff was strong, what’s the probable score i could get on that essay?

I thought that the test was very easy, given that it was the last year of the current test. I expect something horrible like last years’ Chem exam.

@shinchang yes! even then i knew exactly what they were asking about when i saw the prompt, i was expecting the worse and ended up crying tears of joy as i busted through that. expecting a 7 or 8 on that tbh. im still rather unsure about my mc??? who knows.

Guys, there’s no point in worrying about what has already been done. Try to get it off your mind and focus on whatever else you have to do. You can worry about it in July.

@Remembrance‌ The test is over!
Don’t worry about how you did or how you think you did. All that does is create unneeded stress and worry.
Also, we’re not AP graders so we can’t judge.

Kind of ironic I say this to you because I have a question for all of you.

I forgot to circle my prompt number for my first free response.
However, I did circle 2 for the first and third page but not the second. Will I be okay?

@Metaphorical NO MAN YOU ARE SCREWED!!! SCORES CANCELLED!!! lol come on man you are fine, that is not a big deal, remember they are scored by people who are intelligent not robots

@metaphorical im not stressing or anything, but i’m just curious as to what would happen. just want like a predicted score, if everything else minus that mix up was solidly written

@Metaphorical Shame on you. lol jk. And I never knew you could be a hypocrite.

Any guesses on how the curve will be for this AP exam? I bombed it. sigh

@chicdmstj97 From what I’ve heard/read it was fairy easy. (I thought it was OK) I wouldn’t get my hopes up too much…but a nice curve is always welcome

Personally, I thought the test was really easy. My teacher is insanely difficult, and APUSH is one of the hardest classes in my school. I think she prepared me really well–the MC questions on her tests are impossible, so these were a lot easier. I think I got fewer than 10 incorrect. I also got really lucky: we did a practice DBQ in class that was the exact same as the actual DBQ. I got even luckier with the FRQs: I did 3 and 5, and my US I term paper was on Jackson and my US II term paper was on Reagan, so I had already written 10+ pages on each topic. I’m pretty confident I got a 5, so I think the curve probably won’t be great (for those wondering) but I might be somewhat biased.

wasn’t that bad until that reagan/jimmy carter one lmao

I thought MC was ridiculously easy compared to the AMSCO practice test and other practice exams.

We didn’t start the fire by Billy Joel is a great song. Why didn’t I see it before?
