Can we discuss them now?

i did questions 2 and 5 but what if i did them out of order?

first i did the DBQ, then 5, then 2. will the AP readers still see that i did FRQ #2?

@otoribashi‌

you’re 100% fine. you can do them in any order you want to, as long as you correctly circled the essay you were answering at the top of the page. you could have done the DBQ last if you wanted to

@Remembrance thanks!

i thought i did pretty well on my DBQ, but i’ve never taken the actual APUSH class [i took regular], so i didn’t know that outside info was more important than the documents.

i used all the documents and wrote about WWI and how it left america defeated both physically and financially, and about soviet union and the holocaust awoke america’s moral compass but im not sure if that’s enough for “outside information” since it isn’t truly specific in terms of vocabulary or name dropping…

but overall it was a written very well, one of the most favorite essays ive ever written.

will i still be able to get a 5-7 on it?

@otoribashi I have no idea. I don’t remember what it was, but I know that there is a certain score that you cannot receive anything higher than if you do not use any outside information. I think it was a 3.

as long as you didn’t just go in order of each of the documents, and actually said some relevant, good information between your use of the documents, you should be one. specific vocabulary terms like events and treaties would have been very helpful, though. all in all, I didn’t read your essay, so i’ll never be sure. I think you’re fine though.

@otoribashi‌
You make a good point, but I think you could’ve used much more evidence to get a 6+. At most, you could’ve gotten a 5, no offense. There were many more “big ticket” items you could’ve mentioned like the Great Depression, and I’m pretty sure they’re looking for isolation --> intervention or something around those lines. If you went with the “morally awoke America,” let’s hope that you analyzed your documents really well and you had a freaking strong and evidence-supported thesis.

I was one of like only two people in my class to do 2 and 5. Really, I didn’t like any of the questions; neither essays were great.

My DBQ was pretty solid, or at least I think it was. I used all the documents and had three solid points; I presented them in chronological order.

Can someone link me the 2006 released exam

For the DBQ is it an acceptable thesis to say that at first people wanted to stay out of foreign affairs because they were afraid that they would cause another war and start tensions and later on some wanted to start intervening to stop communism and improve their economy and strengthen their power.

For all you guys that are worried about the DBQ, I will help
Fist you guys should have spoken about the start of WW1 and how Wilson tried to get the U.S involved into the war because he wanted to stay allies with the British. After the war, you guys should have spoken on how the U.S. did not want to sign the treaty of Versailles because the U.S wanted to go back to being isolated. Then you guys should have talked about WW2 and how FDR wanted to get involved. However the people just got off the great depression and didn’t want to get involved in another war because people found out that the U.S was involved in WW1 was because big business were able to make a lot of money. However FDR thought he must get involved in the war because of evil leaders and what they were doing. And he knew if Britain fell to the evil leaders than the U.S would be in trouble.

And after WW2, you guys should have talked about the USSR and how Truman tried to make communism not spread by passing the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine. you guys should have talked about how Churchill said the west and the east is divided into communism and non communism. And basically add a couple more details until the Korean war.

And if you some information above, you guys will be fine.

Now for the long, long wait until July…

So I just realized that on my DBQ I accidentally said Lend Lease and Cash and Carry were from WWI, how badly will this hurt my score? From the sound of it I hit all the other highlights I was supposed to except I didn’t really mention the Korean War. Will this ruin my chances of getting a 5? I feel really confident on my last FRQ about Reagan (I went to a study session the day before and the teacher cover it, LUCKY ME!!), hopefully a 7-9. I’m just s worried because I wanted to get a 5 so badly and if I get a 4 I’ll know it was because of a mistake in the DBQ as it is weighed more. Ughhh.

@Remembrance‌ actually you could have used the documents in order. The essay was about how policy changed over time, and the documents were arranged in chronological order.

@jpull13‌

my bad, i guess i worded that incorrectly, because I myself used the documents in order haha. what i mean to say that if you use the documents in order without any info between them and just kind of went one to the other without outside info, that wouldn’t be very good

lol no problem. and yes outside info is needed

I used 2 and 4. It was pretty easy. I used Brinkley’s and AMSCO… Anyways, I hope you all get 5s! Good Luck!

Took the delayed exam (Form A) today. FRQS were much easier than the FRQs from last week, and I thought the multiple choice were very easy as well.

wait did you get the one with the DBQ on civil rights

2014 AP US History scores: 5: 11%; 4: 21.3%; 3: 20.2%; 2: 27.9%; 1: 19.6%.

@stripedpanda Uh… how did you know that?
