Well, I'm not surprised by all the rejections. 1) They're appeals, and 2) Berkeley was very clear about not liking it when people send them appeals to look over.

To NICKs506: Because Berkeley said appeals are closed and they won't be accepting anything more, I don't think it's worth the effort. If they receive another envelope after today that's addressed to the appeals committee, they may just immediately toss it in the trash can.

I just got a message left on my phone
telling me my appeal has been granted but the official decision will be posted online tomorrow morning.

reason for appeal:
lack of family support as a child, definitely a lot of personal hardships, which shaped who i am today, and who i want to be in the future.

COOKIESGARDEN, CONGRATS!!! I didn't get a call on my phone though!! Did many people receives calls on their phones? what i'm trying to say is, were all admittees finding out tomorrow, receive calls on their phone? omg one more day, i really need to know or else i'll have to send deposit to nyu. =(

Appeal:
basically listed off my new achievements, why i felt like i deserved to be at berkeley. I also attached a recording of my violin and singing, which I have earned prizes for. Had 2 really fantastic rec letters that I felt really helped.

Congrats cookiesgarden and edelweiss01! Not that the others on this thread are any less deserving, but thank goodness someone got through! Go Bears!

Yes, congrats to both of you and anyone else who got in on appeal! Happy Dance to you! Sooo, now that it happened, did you submit your SIR and apply for housing?!?

congrats guys, but i got rejected again :(
submitted new GPA (senior yr gpa was like 4.8), 3 recommendation letters (1 from calculus teacher, one from physics teacher, and 1 from guidiance), the appeal letter, and an award i got for senior yr first semester
o well, guess im gonna be a bruin then

i "kinda" appealed again. i forgot to send my essay/letter of appeal to them so berkeley said they would look at it again. still havent heard from them.

I want to write an appeal because I think the college made a mistake. I don’t think that they got my best ACT/SAT scores. Also I want to explain a death that happened to my friend that affected my grades. Do you think they will even care for my appeal.
