**Official April ACT English 2013

I wasn’t sure about one question in the music passage… The question was like, “Which one of the statements if put here reaffirms the author’s thought on salsa conciente” or whatever

Wait, what is the question about “me, for example” that we’re discussing? I can’t remember seeing that anywhere on the test…

@thelemon, it was on the photography passage (top of second page I think) - author listed out several tips. colon beginning the list.

@thelemonisinplay I think that was the one where he was naming all of the “rules” of photography that his parents had given him. Or something like that.

For the “salsa conciente” it was something about how the guy expressed his views/opinions through music.

Ahh, that one. Yeah, the answer to that one was “: Use”, right?

@Efeens - Ok good :)

@Thelemonisinplay - Yes

That one almost tripped me up, too! I was focused on the difference between “maybe” and “might be,” but then saw that we were supposed to focus on “to” vs. “too,” because the fragment was something like: “. . .might be too much.” So, the option with “too” was correct. I hope that makes sense!

this may sound like a stupid question but do you guys remember the “less than” vs “few as” question? I wasn’t sure which one to pick since I thought few was like a numerical amount and it said 10 knots and i didn’t know if less than would be correct.

it ended up being “less than 10 knots” - it only had an option of “fewer thEn” which doesn’t work. typically speeds and temperatures are said “less than” even though they have numbers. you wouldn’t say “don’t go fewer than 70 mph” or “it’s fewer than 32 degrees out”

yay so happy I changed it to less than. thanks!!
now hoping i didn’t bomb science too hard…

Did you guys put “No change” a lot?

I remember that the first 2-3 questions were no change. No change is correct 1/4 times it shows up, simple as that. So don’t worry too much if you chose it a lot.

yeah I know that statistic, but I used it at least 10 times haha

that doesn’t sounds unreasonable 10 times would be accurate if 40 of the 75 Qs had it as an option - at least half or so do. sounds fine.

I had 19 no changes for Feb and I got a 36 in English, so no fears :)

@jdan123, yea i did put No Change a lot… probably about 10-15 times i would say…

Does anyone remember the question with “Despite…though”? Something like that. I don’t remember what was in between those but it all sounded really awkward to me. I was deciding between something like “Despite…though” and “Despite…, though,”

@loudesttrumpet, I picked the one with the two commas.

I put “,though,” as well or else it would’ve awkwardly interrupted the rest of the sentence.
