hi angelath, international student applying for Baranrd ED
my status shows they havent received my sat oct. scores too

hi acarter nice too meet you
where are you from?

regarding the sat score, same here. I think i once saw somewhere that barnard only chooses to receive scores in mail, maybe thats why its taking a while? dont worry they will arive in time im sure

only 19 days left… seriously this is the first time i feel time DOESNT fly hope to hear good news from all u guys 19 days later!

China

yeah they receive scores by mail, but I still hope my scores can be in soon
Witing is so cruel to us, i cant imagine if I have decided apply for RD and kept waiting until April!!
i hope they still keep a high ED admit rate this year!

well last year´s ED thread was way longer than ours… so maybe this is an indication that less ppl applied ED this year? if that makes u feel less intense haha :)

i think the whole thing with score registration takes time for them too.

China is cool. thats where i am from too actually. but i moved to norway with my parents when i was young so im officially applying from norway. its funny how barnard never had a student from norway before.

really i dont know abt last year’s thread… I have no idea why there are less ppl apply to ED this year cuz the rate last year was so high.
your chance to Barnard will be pretty high if they havent got any norwegian before. they def want the campus to be more diverse.

Question- On the tracker, if they haven’t received something, will it just show up as blank, or will it actually say something? All the optional things are blank for me, but one of them is actually required from me…

it will show up as blank.
if u miss somthing in ur application package, the admission will maybe email you and ask for it. they did that with me.

Thanks, angeloath. How long do they take to email you?

only a week or so.

a random thought - i wonder how many applications they get through a day?

hmm not sure.
i wonder if those who have november sat scores will be put in the end, as the scores wont arrive until the beginning of december.

I don’t know if SAT scores play that big of a role. I always imagined that they would set aside those that were borderline and would use the SAT scores to help them make a decision, but I feel as if they can definitely get a good enough of an idea whether or not you’re a “Barnard woman” from the rest of the application.

cant agree more, wej, regarding to the SAT problem. they would evaluate a lot on the essays cuz there’re 4 short responses and 2 essays in supple and common. they can def tell “who you are and how much potential you have” from those essays and school records.

Hi, I was wondering if any of you know what kind of envelope one will get if she is accepted, like a big or small one?

:)

@barnard92- I hear it’s a big envelope sent via priority mail if accepted, a regular envelope if denied/deferred, an email if you are international. Everything is sent out December 15th (financial aid is sent a few weeks later), so you might receive something as early as the 16th/17th depending on where you live.

hi girls! my name is Gloria and I stumbled across this forum today. i applied ed to barnard as well and i’m positively freaking out at the moment… i can’t believe we’ll all hear back so soon. I’m beginning to doubt my chances… but this could just be nerves settling in! how are you all keeping yourselves occupied?

Welcome, Gloria!
Check out the countdown thread. We are keeping a list of things to do to pass the time :-)

perfect! i hope it works out for all of us. did you interview on campus?

Yeah, I visited twice and interviewed on campus. It was a weekend interview with a senior interviewer, so it was a bit rushed, but it was still nice.

What about you? Feel free to ask for advice.
