To anyone waiting for her tracking number: EMAIL YOUR ADMISSIONS REP! Something weird is going on with their system. I had to email mine to get my tracking number because I never received one. They won’t be annoyed that you do this, in case you’re worrying about bothering your counselor!

I can’t take this waiting oh my god. Like artobsessed said, I can’t do it. I feel the exact same way and I don’t know what I’m going to do if I’m rejected. Ahhhhhhh

@whiteoleader, it took three or four days to get my letter in the mail. However, there was a way (last year at least) to check online on the 15th. If you go to the Barnard website, and find the page “Admitted Students for Fall,” it will ask for your Identification number. If you’ve been accepted, it will take you to a page congratulating you and asking you to confirm your enrollment and pay a deposit.

But again, I’m not sure that this method will still work this year.

@katethegr8 what was the Identification number that you typed in? The code Barnard gives us to track our application? Our CommonApp ID?

Thanks for the info on the tracking number because it said you should get it within 2 weeks and on day 15 I started freaking out! Haha can’t stop talking about Barnard btw, family is starting to get annoyed xD

@kitkatzz95 I’m pretty sure it was the code Barnard gives you for your application!

GAH!! Just typed my tracking # into the Admitted Students for Spring section of the Barnard website just for funsies, and it gave the following message:

“Once you receive your decision by mail, please note that the Enrolling Students Reply Page may only be officially accessed with the 7-digit application ID included in your offer of admission. Refer to your letter for the date by which the site will be live and accessible for you.”

So it looks like we won’t get our decision until after the 15th!! Coming home each day and checking the mail might give me a heart attack…

I’m jealous of the girls who live close to NYC! Mail from New York takes like 5 days to get to me.

Hey ladies! I’m so excited to start talking with some of the women who might be my classmates next year! I don’t know if I should be excited or nervous about all of this but I think I am a little of both. I was the only one at my school that applied ED to a college (mostly because my school is so small) so everyone is anxious to hear if I get in! I DON’T KNOW IF I CAN HANDLE THIS PRESSURE! Hopefully we will all start hearing soon! My mom’s intern graduated from Barnard and she said that she got her acceptance in a few days before the 15th! Fingers crossed that this is true for this year!! :D

@whoaajordan same here! I live in Los Angeles so I know it is going to take forever and I’m already so impatient! :(

Since Connecticut isn’t that far away from NYC, I’m expecting to hear back like Monday-Wednesday, since the 15th is a Saturday and all.

I can’t do it. This decision is on my mind all day everyday and I don’t know what to do about it I CAN’T TAKE IT.
I’m going to be literally camped out by my mailbox waiting for my mail carrier to get to my house everyday, even if it means being late to work because I can’t stand thisssss oh my gosh

So Barnard just e-mailed all the ED applicants and it kind of sounds like they’re finishing their reviewing process and moving on to decisions (FREAKING OUT). They also said this:
“we write to notify you that decision letters will be mailed in time for them to be received by mid-December as planned…If you have not received our response by Wednesday, December 19, we would only then be able to release our decisions over the phone.”
So it sounds like we’ll find out by/before the 15th! (hopefully) (also cue the panic and frantic mailbox checking)

Hello fellow Barnard ED Ladies!

I’ve been following this thread for a while now, and I’ve never had much of a reason to post, but I figured I would (to say hello and because I have a question - double whammy!).

I hail from Pennsylvania and I obviously applied ED at Barnard. BC has been one of my top schools since 7th grade. I hope the application process went smoothly for all of you! You all sound like such wonderful women and I hope that I get a chance to meet all of you at the Barnard campus in Fall of 2013!

Here’s my question…
I received the same email that whiteoleander is referring to. However, the first paragraph of the email I received was this:
“We are honored that Barnard College emerged as your top choice and that you submitted an Early Decision application. And, we recognize the tremendous amount of effort we see in every application we have reviewed. Your responses to our question about why you see the College as a good match have been especially inspiring.”

The last sentence is what confuses me. I thought my response to the essay prompt “Why is Barnard a good match for you?” was very good, so I’m not sure if the last sentence (“Your response to our question…”) is personalized in my email or if everyone received the same exact thing. Heck, I don’t even know if it’s referencing the essay prompt! I was just wondering if anyone received the same thing or something similar. I’m definitely over-thinking it, as I’ve convinced myself that the only reason they’d say this is because I’m not going to be accepted. As in, they’re trying to “let me down easy”. Any insight on whether you think this is personalized or if you received the same thing? :)

I hope you are all doing well and you aren’t too stressed! Everything will work out in the end, and I like to believe that everything happens for a reason - acceptance or rejection from Barnard. I wish you all the best of luck, as you all obviously deserve to be accepted!

The e-mail was not personalized in any way, they posted a link to the same message on their facebook page and all the information was the same.

Oh, on the Barnard College Office of Admissions Facebook Page! Okay, thank you!

Yeah sorry I should have specified haha. Good luck, I hope we all get in!

I hope we all get in to.I love Barnard College so much .

So my daughter was told today by her college advisor that letters will go out USPS on Dec 12th. Hope its true and good luck to all!

DogLover99: AHHH I really hope you’re right! This is crazy, I can’t believe we’re finding out so soon. Again, good luck to all!

Hi!! Does anyone know if international applicants are emailed ON the 15th? Is there a specific time? Good luck to everyone!!!

PS. On Barnard’s application tracking page, is “Early Decision Signature (if applicable):” meant to be blank at this point? :)

The early decision signature is the form you’re supposed to have signed, one of your parents is supposed to have signed, and your gc is supposed to have signed and sent in

Mine says that it was received on October 17, if that helps at all
