Official Barnard Early Decision 2017

there is less than a week left…I kind of don’t want to know anymore :frowning:
so much anxiety

I am telling myself I won’t get in to ease the blow if I don’t. All other applicants I’ve talked to just seem so wonderful… The place seems too good for me. THIS IS WHAT I AM TELLING MYSELF. argh.

Yes! Barnard emailed all of us the other day saying that there’s a code on the acceptance letter which will allow us into the admitted students portal!

umm I didn’t get that email… more details please?

It’s on the admissions office’s facebook page

I didn’t mean email lolol, sorry, I’m still thinking about Emerson’s email haha

oh my god, girl, you scared me!

Oh wait I stand corrected. I’m not trying to make you worry, but I did receive an email from Barnard. In the subject line it says “When Will I Hear From Barnard?” I received it on Thursday, December 6th.

Yeah…

I did get that one, no worries.

Okay! Good! I felt so bad

aghh four more days…waiting is torturing me! I want to get in :frowning: good luck to everyone!

Does anybody know if all notification is via Priority Mail (large red, white and blue envelope) or only those accepted?

Also, I heard what @notakid reported above…in prior years at least if you log into your tracking portal with the code you have now instead of taking you to the page with your tracking info it brings you to an accepted student page. That’s where you need the new code in your acceptance letter to actually enter…But if you get sent to this page in the past it meant you were accepted. Not sure that’s the case this year…Supposedly letters go out tomorrow.

well, I’ve heard it is usually mailed through priority/express mail. But idk what this year will be, I will receive mine by email…does anyone know if the emails will be sent the 15th or when they start mailing the other letters by usps?

I just telephoned the admissions office, because I wanted to find out when international applicants should expect to receive their decisions by email. I was told ‘sometime in December’, and after I pressed for specifics ‘within the week’.

Has anyone else had issues regarding receiving emails from Barnard College about their application? I haven’t received a single one, and I had to telephone or email admissions to confirm that my application was received and complete.

annakarina- if it’s any consolation, you’ll definitely find out before the 19th (they said that if anyone hasn’t heard by then, she should call the admissions office to get a decision). You may already know this because they notified everyone, but it was via e-mail so you might not have seen it. Best of luck! Patience everyone! We’ll find out soon enough :)

hey guys! does anyone have information regarding letter send out dates and the possibility of finding out online? When do you think the tracking numbers should work?

Good luck to everyone! :)

No need for a big envelope for anything but an acceptance. Remember that deferral is a possibility too. It’s just first class US mail.

@notakid how long does first class mail take to be considered. if i live in connecticut, and if it gets sent out tomorrow, should i expect it on friday?

Mail is not totally predictable, & it would depend on what time of day it was mailed. Mailed in the morning tomorrow, it might well get to you in CT Friday. Soon in any case. Good luck to all!

@cordilleract123 Hey girl! I live in CT too, and I’m thinking that we’d probably be receiving our mail the day after it goes out since we live so close.

@swizzle13 ahhh thats great! so excited/anxious!
