I jumped the gun a bit. I just got an email which informed me that I wasn’t rejected, I was in fact Waitlisted. Probably not that big a difference.

@BCbound see you at the carrol school! For all those going to BC, my name is Alec and I look forward to meeting you all soon!

@acellis - I’m so happy you were accepted! I know BC is your first choice.

@BTMell thank you! I still can’t believe it haha

@aceellis See you there! Still overjoyed – After I was rejected from my state school (UF), I’ve been so worried I wouldn’t get accepted anywhere I wanted to go, and then the only acceptance I have thus far is for my absolute favorite. Go figure.

Hey does anyone know if the conservative atmosphere is really strong would liberals feel uncomfortable that kind of thing? thanks

izzya,

If accepted to Michigan would you choose Michigan over BC?

@AwesomeAim

I can assure you that the student body is largely liberal (contrary to some belief) or just flat out indifferent to social/political issues. I would argue that the “conservative” label has more to do with its catholic affiliation and the administration.

BCBound How did you not get into UF? I’m from Orlando lol where in Florida are you from?

@bigdoglover, I would definitely still choose BC over Michigan. Also, I just got waitlisted at Michigan (kinda shocked and declined spot on waitlist haha), but as time went on after I applied I just realized that Michigan wouldn’t be as good a fit for me. I come from a small public school so jumping into a school as large as UM may have not been fun/good for me. I am going to be a business major, and I was accepted to CSOM, which is now ranked higher than Ross. What really convinced me about BC though was when I shadowed a student for a day in the Fall. Even though I had only spent a couple hours on campus, I knew it was exactly what I’d like out of my college experience. (btw I don’t want you to think I am saying this out of bitterness b/c UM waitlisted me, I just saw your question and had already come this conclusion months haha) Good luck!

[/ul]General Comments:
Not positive if I am going to be attending, but there’s a pretty good chance! Kind of nervous about all of the negative reviews on sites such as College ******* though, they make me a bit less confident in my decision. My name is Shea and hopefully I will meet some of you next year Feel free to ask me any questions!

@izzya219

Thanks for the feedback. Nope not bitterness, I totally understand. Great that you got to shadow a student. BC sounds like a great fit for you. Congrats!

Sheabutter:

There are 1-2 sites as you mentioned, which seem to have abundant negative reviews of many colleges. Please don’t base your decisions on Boston College, or any other reputable school, on arbitrary, often angry, comments from some of those sites. Most of them have no bearing on life at the schools they’re talking about.

There are plenty of current BC students and alumni who read these BC threads. Please address any of your concerns here. You’ll find their replies sincere and honest.

BC is an awesome college. Congratulations on your acceptance.

CollegeTimesFour - Regarding your son’s waitlist status…BC often accepts students from the wait list but student MUST make it clear that they are still very interested and would go to school if accepted.
