Bu doesn't offer a scholarship with the program, but I know GW does for its accelerated one.

just interested...
geographic statisitics of ppl accepted to BU SMED...please post where u from.
myself - Toronto

florida...

New Hampshire

Torcan, BU gives merit scholarships to a select number of people. Others get financial aid, grants, loans from BU too. I guess you will have to get the funds from outside scholarships or take out loans.

In regards to Med school, the tuition does increase. I think tuition will be around 40-45k + ~10k for fees and room/board. I don't know for sure, so you shold check out their website just to make sure.

new york....

Guys:
Post here if you are sure you are

(a)definitely accepting the offer for admission to the accelerated medical program at BU.
(b)accepting an offer for another program or school
(c)waiting to hear from another program or school
(d) any other reason for not accepting

a.
and new york

so confused....i dont know how i could ever not accept this offer...i am just not sure if bu is where i want to be...but probably a.- florida

me too krikey07. The choices don't come easy. 50/50 chance right now..
Illinois

most likely coming to BU SMED

this program locks you in...rite? Like you have to stay at BU medical school for med school? What if you decide you don't want to do medicine after 3 years..what happens?
and what other schools are any of you highly considering?

a. most likely

senior0007- Yeah this program locks you into BU Med school. You should call them and find out what happens if you decide BU or medicine is not for you. I guess, many people in the program are very positive that medicine is for them as they are willing to go in for the long haul early on.

a. i got in some other programs but i think this is one of the best that i got into....south jersey

senior0007-u can drop out of the program anytime u want and just get a ba from bu...also if u get a good mcat score and decide to apply to another med school then u automatically forfeit ur seat at bum..other than that keep the 3.2 and get a 28 and ur in

ya so is the mcat 28 for our group of SMEDs as well...or does it change from year to year?

im pretty sure it will stay 28 for us cuz thats what it is now...that would be beat if they're like the nat. avg has gone up so there are new requriements for you to stay in the program

yup. I heard that it stays at 28 for us too.

join the group!

National average will never go up because that the mcat score is a percentile score, not an absolute score. 28 is approximately 50%. It will stick to that way forever.

Hi All,

Could one of you post a link to residency match list for BU MD grads for 2007 and 2006?

Can't seem to find it on the net.

Thanks!
