us citizen living overseas, accepted with dean’s scholarship of $15k/ year

has anybody received invitations to apply to the leader scholar program via email yet?

My daughter was waitlisted, with GPA 4.1, SAT 2290, ACT 35, tons of AP classes all with 5s on the tests, National Merit Finalist, orchestra/violin, volunteer work, good essays and recs. From CA, not Jewish. We are perplexed. It was a safety school that she was picturing herself at. Any clues why they’d waitlist her?

@coolestmom Did she show demonstrated interest (visit, info. session, interview…things like that?). If not then maybe the ‘Tufts Syndrome’? Perhaps she would be on the very high end of students and they thought she was applying as a safety? Where else has she applied and with what results?

@hsgrad She did show interest. She visited, took a tour, had a great interview on campus. We traveled from Calif! Yes, it was a safety. Got accepted to NorthEastern with University Scholars program and 3 UCs (two with Regents). Waitlisted at UCLA, WashU. Denied after being deferred at UChicago.
