Official Call ACT and Complain Thread

So I called ACT today regarding the crisis of score unavailability and this is how the conversation went:

"Hello I was wondering why I haven't received my scores because I have December test deadlines for a lot of colleges"

"Well....We cannot tell you when your scores will be ready, we are still grading a majority of tests at this time until the February 4th final release date. Check back every Wednesday and Friday except this Friday because it's a holiday. We send you an email when your scores are ready so no need to keep checking repeatedly."

"Well what if I have December test deadlines for colleges like UC's and USC?"

"I'm sorry I don't know when your scores will come out so I can't resolve that issue for you"

That is beyond ridiculously because not only according to ACT that the "MAJORITY" of tests still haven't been graded but they do not plan on finishing them all until February 4th and are planning on taking another holiday break this Friday and won't get to grading scores until next week.

So based on that conversation there are A LOT (majority is the word she used over the phone) of people who still do not have scores and will not have them until February. So if you care about your future call them to complain like I did because if there's a way to make them hurry and startled it has to be this. Have your parents call, call every other day, and keep calling and ask when they will be ready. Tell them you are extremely displeased with their services and will be telling friends not to gamble with their future and take the SAT test from now on instead. If we can keep a continued effort going I'm sure they will have to grade more exams to at least get our annoying asses off their phone line.

We need to actually do something about this now because this is unbelievable. Unless you like waiting until February 4th and not getting into any colleges based on your December test then don't do anything but if you actually care just call and tell them what you think, it only takes at most 5 minutes and can obviously change a huge part of your life.

This is the number you want to call 319-337-1313. If you want your line to come out as "Private" on their caller ID simply dial *67 before you dial their number.

Copy, paste, and update this count in your post when you call them and post in this thread:

ACT Call and Complain Count: 1

Note: If you have already got your scores and are posting in this thread to spite us with "Just relax you weirdos" don't bother and leave. This thread doesn't concern you.

Man, I feel bad for you guys. The day I got my ACT score in October, I was shivering and literally my whole body was going numb and I hurt everywhere. If my score was delayed I would have sobbed lol.

ACT Call and Complain Count: 2

They guy I talked to acted like he knew absolutely nothing, which now seems fairly true.

ACT Call and Complain Count: 3

Even though I’ve called numerous times.

Also, if you think about it, isn’t this thread kind of counter intuitive, lol? We want them to grade them faster, but we are distracting them with phone calls.

Those who listen to calls are probably not responsible for grading the tests. Those are two completely different jobs.

OT: I haven’t gotten my scores yet either. I’m very displeased, because the majority of my friends haven’t gotten their’s, but a few did. The deadline for my score reports is Jan., but I’m not really worrying. I’m just anxious…

To be honest, I doubt calling will make a difference. You already paid them, so why would they care? A small group of people complaining won’t affect the company much anyways.

I don’t think the release date of the scores really matters to colleges, as long as it will say “December 2010 Score”.
It is not your fault; what matters is that you submit your application before the deadline.

It definitely does matter when they finish. Bc if my colleges receive my scores in February, there is a possibility they already made a decision based on past scores and will just ignore these. Or it possibly they will say they’re too late and just ignore them. If that happens I just wasted 40 dollars.

This is really ****ing me off because ACT should know that alot of people taking the December test need it for their January deadlines. And it is the last chance for us. Seriously if they are this behind they shouldn’t be taking breaks. This is why the SAT is so much better.

Though I also doubt calling them constantly and complaining won’t help. I’m assuming that a machine grades these and that they can only go so fast.

EDIT: That wasnt a bad word in the stars. O well.

Just because the SAT didn’t delay scores doesn’t mean it is better than the ACT. wwttff?

Why don’t you guys call your schools instead of complaining to the ACT?

Just because the SAT didn’t delay scores doesn’t mean it is better than the ACT. wwttff?

Why don’t you guys call your schools instead of complaining to the ACT?

I wish they would just give me a true explanation of why and stop BSing…

I agree with above… You know they know when they’d have the majority of the tests graded. Wish they stop giving us the run around and be frank with what the situation is.

I called already, so…

ACT Call and Complain Count: 4

And of course we know the reason why they’re not done grading! It’s because there are a bunch of holidays around this time and they are lazy, inept bastards. They have a monopoly on the college admissions market so we have no choice but to use them and therefore they really don’t give a cr@p about us.

Office is closed, what a bunch of slackers, I feel like suing them but I cant, I am just so frustrated of how careless they can be that they can take a break right now. It is not fair. “They are people, they need breaks too”… really they also have responsibilities and if they don’t fulfill them, then they should not be on break in the first place.

We should be able to “like” posts…
This sucks. I’m a junior and I won’t know whether I need to take the february test until 8 days before? I took this test on standby and it’s going to take forever and I’ll have to take the next one on standby too…unless I just take the SAT and forget the ACT.
Or unless I actually manage a good score, which is unlikely.

Just sign up right now for the February ACT test to be safe.

Can we all call or write to a news station to tell the world how they are taking advantage of and making a fortune off of us? I think this is extremely unfair, for high school seniors applying to colleges with deadlines on jan. 1 and everyone else taking the ACT who want to know whether or not they should sign up for the test in feb. This is causing a ton of unnecessary stress, but let’s pressure them into giving us a real answer or grading our tests!
