if so wanna see each other’s portfolios? I’m just curious
@ancientfan I applied for cmu design, and I was curious what kinds of design did you include in your portfolio?
I applied for design as well! I completed the design project as a supplement. do any of you plan on going in for an on campus review?
@deepblueocean @lilylily123 yay potential design buddies! I don’t think I’ll be going to on-site review bc I live in .ca! Same! I can link you my portfolio if you want, and
You could link me yours?
@ancientfan @lilylily123 I applied for Design. Will be going to today’s review
@MandomeLife Cool! That’s four people altogether for design on CC heh!
Review went well! My interviewer (a professor) was very casual and asked questions on rapid fire mode - there were only 6 minutes allowed. He told me that my work “is at the graduate level” and gave me another compliment that involved profanity haha.
I was also able to visit the student studios and they were pretty spacious. Great work going on there.
I have my interview today
@Dilan412 How did it go?
Did anyone receive the financial reminder? On the Where am I in the Process page, it says that the school has sent it out on February 1. However, I have not received one yet.
Received one email on 1/27/2016, “January Newsletter for Applicants”, it did talked about applying financial aid. @deepblueocean

@bestone1999 I got that email, but have you checked your “Where am I on the Process” page? It says on February 1, Financial aid packet was sent home. Can you check if you have the same thing as I do?
@deepblueocean, yes I see the same
@bestone1999 I was freaking out about it because I never received any mail. Have you?
No emails
Hey guys, I’m a serial lurker in the CMU boards, but I applied RD to Dietrich so I thought I would drop in and say hi. I’m already a bit nervous, and trying to prepare myself for incoming rejections. I keep alternating between wanting to see my decision now, and also never wanting to see my decision haha. I have had luck so far in the early rounds, being accepted to Case Western (26.5k/year merit), Fordham (25k/year merit), and Northeastern. I was deferred ED from Cornell. I have a feeling though I’m going to get rejected a lot in the regular round haha. What about you guys did you apply anywhere early action/decision?
Side Note: Apparently an AdCom from CMU contacted my GC. She didn’t ask about my grades (phew); however, asked about me as an applicant, and my extracurricular activities. My GC was very excited and construed it as a “good sign.” Has anything similar happened to any of you? (I’m sure it means nothing.)
@NotAMathlete You sound like you are losing yourself right now. Please find yourself. I know it sucks to hear rejections because I got rejected from my top school choice.
I am sorry to hear that you got rejected from Cornell. That just means Cornell unfortunately lost someone who is talented.
It is awesome that you have been accepted to colleges and received scholarships. Thus, don’t try to feel that you are not an amazing student! You have worked 4 years in your high school to prove how well you can do.
Additionally, it is a good sign that the college contacted your GC to know more about you. That just means you are great! Since the end of high school is coming, don’t lose yourself because of college. Find yourself again!
Hope you for the best.
@deepblueocean Aw, I’m sorry to hear that. Thank you for your kind sentiments. I haven’t lost hope as I could still get accepted by Cornell in the regular decision round. :^)) Nevertheless, I am surely moving forward, and trying to get excited for other universities!
