Try Fauchon! There is one on Park Avenue (near 57th) and another on Second Ave (I think) and 77th. The one on Park Avenue has a tea room. They also have chocolate, spreads, jams... which is why it's my required stop when I go to NYC.

they also have the best chocolate. They are all over. the biggest one is on 77th.

Really? I've been to both and the Park Avenue one seems bigger - and has the tea room.

They are only in NYC and Paris - hence the reason I go every time I'm in the city. :) Y'all don't know how luck you are... but you will in the fall after a few months of Lex Vegas.

no i know how lucky i am NY is the best city ever...i am going to miss it more then anything...except for maybe my fam and friend.

If I can make it there
I'll make it anywhere
It's up to you
New York, New York

So I actually experienced with the popped collar today.

You know, it wasn't as bad as I was afraid it would be.

That is all, good night.

YAY! Did you have a pink polo on?? At least give me light green or blue - something which would look fine on an Easter egg.

Not sure that I'm ready go up back "up North," where men wear black and blue suits. (You think "black and blue? As opposed to what?" Well, as opposed to pastel plaid or seersucker. It's a party, not a funeral. Yes, Cangel, I'm turning into a Southerner. ;) )

I am so going to look like I am going to a funeral everyday or that I am goth due to the high number of black clothing I own....I am going to miss New York soo....haha

that's cool dima, the popped collar is very useful, especially if your neck gets cold a lot. collar-poppage has taken over the globe. morgan is porbably shaking his head right now.

"You think 'black and blue? As opposed to what?' Well, as opposed to pastel plaid or seersucker. It's a party, not a funeral."

that's what i'm talkin about. lilly (although sort of childish) = awesome.

Oh god, not the popped collar. Please don't. It just screams willfull igonrance of clothing convention. I know it has taken over in the south, but we've got to commit ourselves to fighting this fashion atrocity. Pastels I can deal with, but please, for the love of god leave the collar down.

aaron....dude. you might be the smartest man alive.

I don't own any pastels.

Any shirts I have would look good with my suits which are black, black with pinstripes and grey (Italian, Italian, Ukrainian, respectfully).

I am going to have to buy a lot of new clothes. Most of my stuff is Yankee stuff but I don't feel so comfortable wearing the jersey of a 12-19 team.

Don't change how you dress because you're going to school in the South, haha. Well, if you do, just don't advertise it so much.

I don't see what's so wrong with popped collars. Overdone? Mos def. But can it be done tastefully? Mos def! I don't like it when it's completely popped, that just looks like you're wearing a really stupid shirt. It has to be bent just right, I guess...

need supply co. has polo shirts that have writing on the collar so that if the collar is popped the back of your neck says PREPPY

willywonka, I'm not going to change the way I dress just for the south, except that maybe I need to get some more spring-ish clothes, since there's a shorter and warmer winter, I need more clothes anyway since I grew out of almost everything but my Yankees stuff (which I bought last year)

Dima - you don't wear the pastels w/ normal suits - you wear pastel suits. Not 1975 powder blue tux "pastel suit," but a nice seersucker or light fabric with pastel plaid print. Alvin-Dennis carries a full stock. ;)

I don't think I can see myself in a pastel suit at this stage of my life.....or at any stage for that matter.

Unless I'm on stage, but acting is a whole different business.

woooo! i am a lover of pastel colors, all around, and plaid is so wonderful! go for it guys! and as for the popped color. if you can pull it off, go ahead! i love it! unless you look extremely fake... the popped color hasnt made it fully down here yet. only a few guys in la wear it, and some of my friends and i wish the "popped collar era" would come.

ohh see the collar-poppage up here has def turned into a poser thing. it used to be hot but it went downhill fast when unworthy people started doing it...hahaha. it can still definitely be pulled off though, you just have to know how to do it. i think ALL of you will appreciate this advice from fratty.net:

1). Pop the collar only on a two or three button polo...button down shirts just don't work, as much as you might want them to. Other pieces of attire can be substituted from time to time, such as the fleece, but can only be ruled on in a case by case basis, so pop at your own discretion, or those of a brother with better fashion sense than you. Multiple polos worn in layers must have both collars popped at all times.

2). Popping the collar causes you to look cool, but do NOT act as if you think you are cool- you will be trying too hard. Act as if you frat on a daily basis.

3). Do not pop the collar at any event in which you don't know at least 5-10 people. You run the risk of being ostracized, and must have multiple other fratties to back you up, in style or physically.

4). When popping the collar, do not button the top button. This produces the look of a dog halo, and is very unappealing.

5). When popping the collar, you must walk around with a completely lost look on your face, as if you are really hammered, even when you're not. This is frat.
