if we submitted everything before 1st november but the status only changed to “received” for some parts after 1st november is it counted as EA?

wait…a completed application means
submitted personal information, 1 teacher rec, 1 counselor rec, tests, and transcript right?
and can someone tell me where it says “show decision” or whatever on wolverine access?

No decisions today?

General Comments: I can’t believe I got accepted so quickly…I applied on October 21st, and I got my decision yesterday. I thought my lack of leadership/fancy ECs would hold me back. Compared to most of the other people on this site, I’m pretty mediocre lol, but I guess it mostly comes down to grades/rank/test scores…contrary to what they have you believe lol

^
Wow you did hear back quick, congrats to those accepted.
I applied early October, application was recieved 7th and last material received was 10th… I can no longer really guess when I will hear back especially since my stats are below their average. Anxious to know decision of my application.

if we submitted our application before 1st november but the last material was only received after 1st november is it still counted as early action?

I’m Class of 2015. But I just wanted to say GOOD LUCK to all the applicants. UMich is a great place.

ilovefhf, **everything **needs to have been postmarked by November 1st. It’s as simple as that.

Coolbrezze, what are your stats?

To me my stats are not bad at all ( besides test score), but to certain universities ( like University of Michigan) its below their average. I’am most embarrassed with my test scores, and I think that is probably the biggest wreck to my chances.

^ I feel your pain Coolbrezze…everything for me is good except my GPA and of course Umich has to put the most stock in my shortcoming…I’m still waiting and it’s becoming painful.

LOL, same^. i’ve been hoping they might just skip over my GPA altogether ;)

If only…:)

^
Well I recently read through a Michigan deferred thread, those deferred that applied as ER didn’t hear back until December about being deferred, after that they didn’t hear back until mid-April, give or take a few happen to get waitlisted… wow seemed like it would never end, the next horrible statement ( after finally being rejected) would be offering to apply again next year and go through the entire process again.

I saw a couple deferred decisions that came earlier last year, but mostly you seem to be right. I’d like to know if I am pretty quickly. My first term ends in like 2 weeks and I could send them a whole bunch of A’s in really difficult courses on my term 1 report…but I can’t do anything till I know. >.>

Decision: Accepted!!!
Major: Aerospace Engineering

Stats:

* SAT: didn’t take it
- SAT IIs: 760 Math II, 700 Chem
- ACT: 32 (35 math, 33 science)
- GPA: 3.66 unweighted, 5.32/6.00 weighted (my school’s weird)
- Rank: school doesn’t rank but probably top 1%, definitely top 5%
- Other stats: I have a few ECs but most were nothing special or lasting no more than a couple years. My two big ECs though were a summer job and having played piano for 10ish years.

Subjective:

* Essays: all three were awesome
- Teacher Recs: kick ass
- Counselor Rec: decent
- Hook (if any): Umm… I’m a first generation college student and my sister and brother-in-law went to Michigan. Besides that, nothing really. I mean, my essays were pretty damn sweet but I don’t know if that’s considered a hook.

Location/Person:

* State or Country: Illinois
- School Type: public school with 1800 total (all four years)
- Ethnicity: white
- Gender: male

Other Factors: They received all my stuff by October 10th. And I visited the school, took a tour of the aerospace facilities, and had a one-on-one with the head professor there. So that could have helped.
General Comments: Good luck to everyone who either hasn’t heard back yet or hasn’t applied yet! I still can’t believe I heard back so soon. It’s crazy awesome. Anyways, I’m riding a huge emotional high right now. And it feels good.

^^
I also would like to know if I’am deferred, but not to send grades out ( I only send out semester grades). Though actually I highly doubt I will be attending the school if I get deferred, since I’ve gotten into Iowa ( and AZ), and still up in the air for Minnesota- Twin Cities- another really high choice along with a few other publics and privates ( such as NYU, BU,USC, GWU; though horrible thing apps are not finish for these private schools).

Oh yeah, I forgot to say something about coursework. I took AP Calc BC and AP Chem last year and got 5s, much to my surprise. As a senior I’m taking AP Physics, AP Stats, AP Spanish, and multivariable calculus (it’s basically what would be Calc 3 in college but there’s no AP). And I suck at English. So if that helps, then you’re welcome. If it doesn’t, you’re still welcome.

^
Oh wow, congrats to your acceptance must be great.

^^^ Well, my school operates in trimesters…so yeah. One of my three full terms is ending. UMich is my top choice, so I’ll probably be working hard to try and get in. I have other options of course, but I really like the school
