Yeah I also would like to get accepted and really like the school but I may get rejected or deferred, and if deferred I couldn’t near imagine waiting on a deferrel only to find out being waitlisted or rejected. I question what is the deferrel acceptance rate, must be around 20-30%.

Yeah, they don’t keep precise stats on that, someone checked last year…either way, it’s worth a try to me. And afterwords. if I go elsewhere, that’s fine. I tried. ;)

^
Only thing you have to send them for admission is 9-11th transcripts, but you are also required to send your final transcript ( including 12th grade) at the end of your senior year.

^ You’re gonna need to submit financial aid forms, housing, deposit, final grades… not sure what else. You’ll also have to figure out when you’re doing orientation and that kind of thing.

Just to check… it seems like most people (on here and in general) who have NOT heard back from umich yet and who sent in early decision either:
a) have stats that are about a 27 ACT and 3.8 GPA (aka borderline)
or
b) just didn’t send their stuff in earlier than the last week of October.
Am I right? Because situation ‘a’ is me. Anyone else in that boat?

I still haven’t heard back, but I’m pretty sure my grades/GPA/ACT/SATII are more than enough to get in. 33 ACT, 3.85 GPA, 800 Math II and 750 Chem. Plus i think my essays are great and i had a billion extra rec letters.

Anyone else in a similar situation? I’m kind of worrying since I haven’t heard back and all my stuff got there Oct. 19th…

Lizdemonster if you put up a 33 on the ACT and you applied ER you’ll get in. Unless your gpa is ***** like under a 3.4, then I wouldn’t even worry, but in your case a 3.85 is damn good.

why don’t you guys just listen to U of M and do what they ask you to do? If they ask for one teacher rec letter, just send one. 2 or 3 letters only makes you look desperate and thats probably the last thing you want the adcoms to think when they look over your application. Your application should speak for itself, rec letters are not the deciding factor on decisions.
