** Official Class of 2018 University of Michigan EA Decisions Thread **

I got in…

Little early…lol

Does anyone know when Michigan will release the decisions?

Around December 15th, no later than December 24th.

Does michigan send you an email or do they just update your portal?

Michigan prefers to communicate with its prospective students almost exclusively by raven.

how did they notify you??

will the decision be online before we get a letter?

I think Michigan sends an email and the subject line is like “Your Michigan Decision” or something… So the decision will be online before you get the actual letter.

Mine was titled “University of Michigan Admissions Decision” and it arrived in the early afternoon a few days before my packet.

@Finnlet when did you submit your app?

This was back in the early years of EA/ER when decisions were still rolling, but I submitted mine the day before the deadline. Your mileage may vary.

Good luck everyone.

When my daughter applied (Fall '11), they emailed the decisions in waves over the course of a weekend- the weekend before Christmas, I believe.

Anyone else still waiting to be confirmed for Early Action?

I took the October ACT and my updated scores are on the portals of all the other schools I applied to. They are not updated on the Michigan application. Will this score not be considered because it was scored after the Nov. 1st deadline? I really hope not, it was my best score :(

P.S. I have previous scores already on the Michigan portal.

My October scores are updated on the portal. Did you send them right away before knowing the score? Since that’s what I did.

Don’t worry. I may take a couple weeks before UMich update their record. Even if it is not considered in EA, it should still be shown on the portal. If your application is complete by deadline and the new scores came in shortly afterward, it should be considered in EA review. Anyway, if you are not accepted in EA, you will be most likely deferred and they will for sure consider the new score in RD.
