[/ul]Other Factors: National Merit Commended may have helped a bit General Comments: Michigan isn’t my top choice, but it’s nice to be accepted there! Congrats to everyone!

Just an idea, but someone should make a UMichigan DISCUSSION thread so that half the pages in the decision thread aren’t filled with people asking questions (could be annoying for future applicants looking through these threads).

Congrats to everyone who has been sweating it out since the first wave of acceptances-especially srrinath!

Cronotriggerfan- You got into Northwestern already? Wow! and how?

UC: Deferred (gonna be rejected, though, doesn’t matter.)
NWU: Accepted
MSU: Accepted, Honors College
U of M: Taking their sweet goddamn time. :/

Yeah, I was never really that worried about NWU. My dad’s best friend is an alumni and now a big-time donor with lots of friends in the system, so it was a bit of a sure thing. I really hate playing the system like that, but hey, do whatever it takes, y’know? :(

Unfortunately I really don’t wanna go there. Like, at all. I sorta have to stay in-state, so Michigan is really my only option.

Congrats to everyone who was accepted TODAY…you can ask questions and intervene with other accepted students under the OFFICIAL ACCEPTED CLASS OF 2014 Thread!!!

Best of luck to those who are still watiting!!!

Now that’s some hefty pull. A friend from a summer program is a direct bloodline relative of Northwestern’s new President and was told-via email- no decisions until December.

Decision: ACCPTED TO LSA

I’m nervous. I applied in late September with solid credentials and haven’t heard yet. Friends at my school who applied later with worse stats got in already. I don’t understand.

OMG, I feel the exact same way! People from my school are getting in with just okay grades and low test scores! I’m super nervious too and don’t understand why they heard back before I did!

A lot of people I know got accepted with 26’s on their ACT. They just found out today and 3.5 grade point. These aren’t terrible scores, but I just thought on the low end for Michigan.

That stresses me out! I have a 28 ACT and a 3.5, and I thought that was low enough to get me deferred. Lol, why are people with lower stats getting in while we aren’t hearing anything?

No offense, but damn…3.3 26 would cut it for you OOS. In-state ppl with those stats barely get.

But there is always hope my man. BTW, legacy is not even one of the top five deciding factors (GPA, Trend, Test Scores, In-State Vs Out-of-State, Essays) on your app.
