I’m reallyy torn between University of Michigan, Penn State, and possibly UNC Chapel Hill (although im still waiting to hear their decision). But I love michigan ppl and the schools awesome so right now im leaning towards goin to UofM  Go Blue!!

spanish 6? *** lol…damn… mind = blown

question, here…

how can having borderline stats inhibit u from getting your decision results sooner? what if they pick up your application early & don’t defer u. am i missing something, here…?

^As an admissions officer looks through your application, he may see that you would fair well at the university, however, your stats are too common. What makes you different than another applicant with an equivalent GPA, course load, and ACT/SAT score? The admissions officer will have to break down your application, review it again, and probably send it out to another admissions officer. They look through all of your information, and it takes awhile, especially if it has to be reviewed more than once.

My last thing was processed on 11/10, anyone else whose last thing processed after 11/10 get in?

my last thing was processed the 16th of nov. and i got a decision last friday.

O well, i probably got deferred :</p>

oOo, thanks for that info. at least i know i wasn’t a quick reject…heh…

if you’re deferred, what is the % chance of getting accepted later on? does any one know off-hand?

^
Well I guess I sorta was since I was deferred back in Nov ( Nov 9th) had all my material in by Oct 7-10th ( was the only one on cc at the time with a deferrel). Quick reject… UMich does not reject ER applications.

Chances of getting admitted as a ER is likely higher, I would estimate about 50-60%, regular admission chances are likely around 40-50%… with a deferrel I would assume 20-25% percent since not only do your application have to stand out among deferrel and RD, but there will also be much less space for students ( well assuming if majority of the students admitted decide to attend the school and didn’t do EA/ED etc… elsewhere).

umich does not reject ER applicants??/???

^judging by previous posts, that’s generally been the pattern

“General Comments: I’m super excited I got into Michigan even though im from maryland all my family lives in michigan/graduated from UofM, Mich.
I can understand UNC, but Penn State?

Ugh, i’m stuck between the feelings of impatience and nervous…Blah.

I thought about going there just because of the big 10 commercial that says “Come to Penn State!!!” haha, cracks me up.

I’m glad U-M does not reject applicants during the ER period. Why they wouldn’t, I am not sure. With that stress relieving information, it sucks that U-M does not update deferrals on WA. On any given day, I could get that dreaded deferral letter and life will be miserable.

jestergirl10

what were your stats?

thanks

and wenboy

don’t be discouraged man!

hmm umich got my stuff by nov. 10, and i have yet to receive a decision. does this mean am i deffered or rejected?

Or possibly accepted. They aren’t done releasing decisions yet.

im skeptical because jestergirl said her application was processed by the 16th, and she received her decision last friday…
