HELP ME!!!
I don’t know much about Boston College, and I hear wonderful things as well as terrible things. I know that BC is very well respected, but does anyone know the English program well enough to tell me if that program specifically is well respected? As an English major, I feel like I could go anywhere. Is Boston really worth the trip and money? Please someone, convince me that I’m right in being extremely excited about getting in.
Also, congrats to all those that got in! To those that got deferred or denied, congrats on your acceptances to plenty of other amazing schools!

Interesting reading this thread…So basically if you are not a Legacy, Under Represented Minority, or First Generation College Applicant you need a minimum of a 1400 SAT/32 ACT to have any prayer of being accepted to BC. Wow!

^^mathematically, not true in total. But yes, EA is more competitive and BC so states.

The mean for BC matriculants is below 1400/32. In other words, over half the Frosh have lower numbers. They all can’t be hooked…

true, but matriculants are different than accepted students. Most colleges, admitted students have higher stats than matriculated students.

[li] Why you think you were accepted/waitlisted/rejected: I was fortunate enough to personally meet the Senior Director of Admissions during a college fair at my High School. At the time I was unaware of his position but I made sure to introduce myself, ask questions, and portray a confident demeanor. I asked the counselor for his contact information and sent a question to him that night regarding Boston College. Luckily I was able to achieve some personal contact with an important member of the admissions office and retained that contact until my acceptance. The counselor also wrote me a hand written note with my acceptance letter.[/li][/ul]General Comments: I was completely surprised by the admission to the honors program. I felt relatively confident about my chances at BC, but when compared to the credentials of other students accepted to the Honors Program I am truly amazed that I was selected. I am genuinely excited about the admission!
