Deadlines are pretty strict. We had ours postmarked with return confirmation and ensured that it got in on time. My son didn’t end up getting the Chancellors, but his stats are nowhere near what your son’s are. He is very happy at Pitt Engineering. I would get this done quickly.

I applied beginning of November and heard back in 2.5 weeks. UPitt seems pretty cool, but I guess I’ll see about my other colleges. I want scholarship, but the people who got accepted in this thread are a lot better than me so i dunno if i’ll get one hope everyone gets what they want in the end

@Rocknroll. It wasn’t extremely rigorous. I had very few honors courses but still maintained a decent gpa. I took 4 years of math, 4 years of language, 3 years of science, 3 years of history, 4 years of English, thats on top of 4 years of required religious studies. I may have made the mistake of applying into the business school. K talked to my counselor and shes gonna call the admissions counselor i met and see if I can reapply or be reconsidered for the CAS. Pitt is my top choice and it’s worth a try.

Essays: They were awful. I wasn’t even done editing it AND sent in my first draft of my common app essay. There were grammatical errors and run-on sentences. It reflected my personality but it was really long. Needless to say, I started crying after I submitted it. This was my safety so I don’t think I took it seriously enough.
Teacher Recs: One was great I’m sure, not sure about the other one though
Guidance Counselor Rec: She loves me; she always mentions how in fifth grade I won the spelling bee at my school
Ethicity: Asian

I’m excited, this was my first acceptance letter! I’m so glad I got in to the Honors College. I’m hoping for scholarship money too but am not quite sure what to expect. Congrats to everyone who got in, and for those who didn’t—decisions are made so arbitrarily that it often seems there are no reasons behind them. Wager onward; smart dedicated people are successful wherever they go.
