Applied yesterday as well. 2310/35/3.75 in hardest classes, good ECs. Good luck to all!
Hello, my son is applying EA and everything is submitted except test scores that went out from the last SAT. However, in reviewing the Common App, I see something that says Member Questions - Optional. I don’t see anything in particular that we missed on the CA. I looked at their website and it says they require ‘Completed Common Application and Northeastern member questions submitted simultaneously (available at
commonapp.org)’. Did we miss something? It is a stretch school for him, but obviously we don’t want to miss something on the App and be ruled out for that. THANKS!!
PS: Just for info purposes, he has a 4.0 unweighted, 4.46 weighted, four 1818 classes, several APs and good ECs, included Yearbook Editor for 2yrs and Boys State. Test scores are the sticky spot, 650 English and 630 Math on the SAT.
same here where were the member questions?
I submitted my application on Monday!
Early action
College of Science (math)
2200 SAT superscore
720 Biology and 780 Math 2
4.4 GPA weighted (my school doesnt give unweighted GPA)
Good luck everyone!
does anyone know whether recs & test scores can be received after the deadline if the app is done by the deadline?
@dkshruteee I’m not sure about recs, but any test scores received by December 1st will be considered.
Hey all, good luck to everyone who has applied. I’ve applied Early Action and am waiting very impatiently for December to come haha. Here are my high school stats. Does anyone here have any idea what they look for in University Scholars Program selection? Would I be a potential candidate? Thanks!

aiming for the scholars program but i doubt that i’ll get in lol
hopefully my winter break won’t be one with me crying over NEU’s admission letter…
@admit2020, a few weeks ago you asked about legacy status. Unless something has changed since 2014 admission cycle, your parent should any day now get an email from the Northeastern legacy committee. Among other things, it will mention that legacy applicants are handed off to a committee for a second look. Which I assume is an advantage for you.
My son applied EA two years ago. He was also a legacy like you (double legacy actually) and we received that email in mid November.
What it really means, who knows? But for what it’s worth that’s what we received and my son got in EA and now a Northeastern sophomore. Good luck to all. Awesome school!
Applied EA to D’amore McKim. Nervous because it seems like half of my school also applied EA!
Emily, what HS did you go to? Sty/BS?

My counselor still hasn’t done his recommendation! I asked about it last week and he said he’d uploaded it but had been having trouble with Naviance and would try again. That’s a flat out lie though, because I can see that he never uploaded anything in the first place ._.
I’ll have to check in with him this week and see what that’s all about. All of my other documents are in- just not the recommendation.
Omg That’s so bad, I hope it gets fixed! @gonewiththeair
Does anyone know if acceptances ever come early?
No, nid-December for EA and ED.
@nishaus I hear somewhere that it traditionally comes out the third Thursday of December. I don’t know for sure tho
You can look back at the ED and EA threads here on CC to see the exact dates. ED came out a few days before EA.
EA for D’Amore-McKim

I applied to Northeastern for Early Action, hopefully for International Affairs. I’ve lived here in Boston my entire life and my high school is quite literally a 5 minute walk from Northeastern (secretly hoping that might help in the admissions process lol). My overall stats aren’t that great, I had some issues that affected my earlier academic performance. My gpa is overall a 3.0 but I substantially increased it over time (9th grade: 2.9, 10th grade: 2.5, 11th grade: 3.7, 12th grade: 4.21) so I hope that helps? Oh well. Northeastern is my #1 school I just really want to get in–I’d even be ok with deferrment I think.
BACKGROUND:
I am a white male at Boston Latin School. I’m involved in a local student activist organization (Right to Remain), the Bernie 2016 campaign, and am a former volunteer for the No Boston Olympics campaign. In addition I am the social media manager for various clubs, have worked for State Street Corporation, am a library praefect manager, and have been a summer camp counselor. I’ve taken AP World History, AP Modern European History, AP United States History, AP French, AP Literature, and AP Economics. All non-AP classes at my school are usually considered to be ‘honors’ by colleges so I hope that helps a bit. SAT is an 1860.
What do you guys think? Do I have a shot?
