Is there anyone out there from New England that was accepted EA? All the students at my school were deferred including our valedictorian. Twitter profiles of students tweeting they were accepted are all from other parts of the country…just curious. maybe just my school??
Don’t think scores are the bottom line, but the trend was that over a certain level, nearly all were reporting they were accepted but under that level there were many deferrals. It appears that major and other factors are more important when the standardized scores are lower.
@willoughby I’ve seen several from New England on the official results thread that were accepted EA.
I was deferred with a 2260 sat 34 act 3.5 GPA UW .
I was deferred with an 1860 SAT and 3.4 UW GPA
Accepted to the University Scholars Program!!
Accepted to the Honors college with a full tuition scholarship from Texas! GPA: 3.74 (UW) 4.60 (W)
ACT: 35
Subject SATs: Math II (800) and Chemistry (760)
Just my school then…
Hi! NEU CS student here -while being Female may give you the slightest of an edge, the difference is barely noticeable (from my knowledge of admissions as a Husky Ambassador, the CS department itself, and my female CS friends). The department is very big on equalizing the gender balance in CS (and it has been going in the right direction with big strides each year) but with NEU getting so many qualified applicants, the difference may be as little as an ACT point, 20-50 SAT points, or .1 GPA. I would expect the bar is about the same as all other applicants.
D was accepted in University Honors Program with $16K merit scholarship from NJ. Applied to College of Arts, Media and Design.
GPA: 4.37 unweighted, lots of honors and AP classes. ACT: 33 but I think NEU superscores which is 34. Lots of extracurriculars.
Good luck to everyone.
For anyone who received aid…was it close to what the net price calculator estimated?
@LkL5789 ours was about we was on the calculator … although nearly the exact amount my D was given in grant aid will likely be turned into the same amount – but as the NMF $30K off tuition if she makes finalist.
Thanks@midwestmomto2
@MidwestMomTo2 Does the aid include any loan?
Was the merit aid announced online for you guys. I was accepted to Honors Program but I have not seen any scholarships. I am an international student.
@Hopeful35 I have extremely similar stats also applied engineering and got deferred as well
Accepted with scholarship ($10000 each year)
@Sean67208 a very small amount was loans (less than 3K). although the amount was listed under financial aid button, it did reference being an acknowledgement of merit and financial aid in the wording, but was obviously, not one of the named scholarships. we are of middle income and this is near (but not quite as much) as we saw on the net price calculator. as i said, this amount is virtually the same as what she would automatically get as “merit” aid if she advances to NMF, which she should. it makes the school doable, but a stretch, and we will be considering other packages as they come in.
Wait isn’t dean scholarship 20k why are some peoples different
I think it varies based on stats and your app. My S was $22.
