@nishaus glad you did it. If you advance to NMF, my understanding is that you name NEU as your top choice and the $30K scholarship is automatic (and continues for 4 years, although you do have to renew it).
Hope it works out for you!

@nishaus If you’ve submitted all your materials and meet the other criteria, it is very likely you will selected as NMF. only 1000 out of 16,000 get bumped out at the last stage, and that’s mostly for not submitting materials. What was your qualifying SAT score?
The $30,000/year NMF scholarship is guaranteed for 8 semesters as log as you maintain a GPA of 3.0 and complete 60 hours/year community service which northeastern arranges for you. The NMF scholarship would replace any other merit aid.
@suzyQ7 2200 SAT and 223 PSAT. But I got a C in on of my classes and I’m scared
Thanks for all your help guys ily
D was EA deferred
GPA: 3.7 (UW), 4.0 (W) all AP Honors
ACT:29
EC: Over 1,000 hours volunteering, NHS, NAHS, Class Council leadership, RI State Silver Key art winner, Varsity Soccer.
Major: Neuroscience; Biological Sciences
Other Schools: Drexel accepted with Honors, Umass Amherst, UNH,
Chances of RD acceptance?
Congrats to all Accepted, and good luck to all Deferred (EA/ED)
Late to the party. D didn’t want to check until finals were over. Deferred. 4.0 UW, 32 ACT, Mech Eng. Bummer.
Hmmm… I got in EA, 90/93 GPAs, 2260 SAT, AP Phys Junior year, AP CS, Chem, Calc BC, + Dual Enrollment “Public Affairs” senior year. Low volunteer hrs, lots of work. OK ECs. NY student.
WOW I CAN’T BELIEVE I GOT IN. 3.7 GPA, 29 ACT. Mediocre ECs.
Nope. My instate flagship UWash is 13,000 a year cheaper. Unless I get denied there’s no way I’ll be able to attend this school D:
@moep1vo15 in your posting history you say you have a 32 ACT and a 3.97 UW GPA. Why the difference?
I ended up getting deferred and I’m out of state-- do I have a chance at RD? I also applied to the College of Engineering:
ACT-30
SAT-1970
IB Diploma Candidate
GPA (Weighted): 4.393
Rank: 20/507 (top 5%)
Great rec letter, good essay, all rounded EC’s including sports, music, STEM, national/state/regional awards, and even received a patent a few years ago.
I have an ACT superscore of about 32, should i send all of my tests or does Northeastern only look at your highest composite?
do you all think that the acceptance rate will go down again this year?
Daughter accepted EA. Awarded $17K merit, National Hispanic Scholar, but no mention of Honors.
@TomSrOfBoston my counselor accidently sent in the wrong transcript and I sent in my 27 ACT
Accepted early action to College of Engineering with $10K merit
SAT - 2130, ACT-33, SATII Bio - 710, Math 2 - 710
GPA - 3.7 (UW) at competitive HS in CT
7 APs with lots of honors classes, pretty good ECs (sports, music, volunteer, academic clubs, work experience)
kind of surprised to receive merit scholarship tbh, many of my friends were deferred with similar stats
Does anyone have trouble registering for an account on the NEUportal?
Anybody received the acceptance package from NU?? Does the school normally send out packages for EA students at this time?
@sugarlicious I applied EA and got the decision on the 15th if that’s what you’re referring to.
@norcaltraveler I mean did they send an acceptance letter to your home?
