When I had a NM scholarship, northeastern said they’d subtract that amount ($2000/yr) from the scholarship that NEU was giving me. (Though they only actually did that my senior year.)
So sad I can’t attend just because I can’t afford it.
@pdubs97, we did have luck with our appeal, but we had originally filled out both the FAFSA and CSS PROFILE incorrectly, making our assets inflated. We sent the corrected forms with explanation and got a letter back yesterday with additional grant aid.
Appeals due to errors have a good chance of success. Appeals due to “I want more” not likely.

Just a heads up to anyone accepted to honors. You are required to live in International Village, which is beautiful - but it costs more than the amount listed on the financial disclosure form. So don’t use the number on that form as your “this is how much this college will cost” for budgeting. Add a couple thousand a year (plus some more if you want to eat more than 15 meals a week).
Note that 15 meals/week meal plan is more than sufficient for most freshmen; in fact, a lot of my friends went down to the 10/week plan in the second semester.
I eat 3 meals a day and felt like the 15 meal plan was too much first semester and switched to 10. Still plenty of food!

Just visit myneu, there various options like differing admission, decline admission like that are available. select decline admission put your phone number, mention the reason and submit.

@ProudDad26 nyu! i’m a bit sad about turning down neu, but i figured that new york would offer a lot of opportunities for the field i’m planning on studying
