OFFICIAL Columbia University Class of 2017 ED Results

I can’t believe the first evaluation of my life is on next week.

How does Columbia give us the decisions? Do we get an email or is there an account that we log on?

@Canadian112 yes, CSS is the College Board’s financial aid evaluation form that Columbia requires of all US citizen applicants.

I’m honestly not sure how I’m going to be able to check my results without having a heart attack… It’s on our Columbia accounts right??

CSS helps them determine how much aid you should get based off of your parents assets and income—mainly info on their 1040 or tax returns).

Last year, it was like logging into this website. I don’t have CSS cause I am an international student with not Financial Aid request (Sucks T.T its so expensive).
But yea. I remember giant countdown clock and Columbia has. Once it hits 0, this link appears, you click, and the decision letter pops up. It’s so dramatic, and it’s definately a nerve breaking process.

I heard internationals are in serious disadvantage if request financial aid because Columbia is need-based for internationals. I gotta thank to my relatively affluent parents. And yours too! lol

I’m not in dire need of aid, but any little bit counts when we’re talking about tuition fees of $60,000 a year.

Yep. Even then, its so dang hard to get in -_-

I definitely wouldn’t be able to go without aid haha. For once, I’m glad I’m a Texan.

I guess there too many smart and rich international applicants around the world

Does anyone want to post a little picture of where it says the release date is december 6th on the CSS profile? I didnt apply for aid so…

Population of U.S. : Around 300 million+
Population of world : 70billion +.
Yea…

But I think the need-based financial aid for international makes the internationals acceptance much easier than HYPSM. Not only they would get more international applicants but they are also need-blind so it will be much more competitive and harder to get in HYPSM.

@Canadian112 Are you serious?? That sounds terrible. Who even comes up with this

I think it will still be hard to get in HYPSM then other schools which are need-based, even if HYPSM changed in need-based is what im trying to say. Regardless, HYPSM IDC for now. Columbia is my #1 and let’s see what happens lol

@Hobbesette, thats just how i feel. Students that i know who are international that are applying hyps seem more prepared than me >.> Maybe it’s just me.
Either way, all ivies are definately up there for being most competitive.

@ballislife December 6th hasn’t been confirmed as the release date; we’re just speculating.

crying because everyone has such amazing stats, and i’m so under par lolol oh well crossing my fingers they’ll excuse me a bit for ec’s, urm status, region, and/or an unusual major. best of luck to everyone!

@clssnr I know that, you should see my previous post as I posted some interesting information. I just wanted to see exactly how it was presented on the CSS profile because I did not submit one. Does anyone want to take a small screenshot of the area where it says this?
