How updated are the CSS profiles?

@Amesthe – I don’t think a lack of financial aid documents affects admission. I remember reading a previous class’s thread about acceptances, and one poster wrote about how the acceptance letter said something alone the lines of “Please send any financial aid documents you haven’t already sent.” To be sure, however, I suggest contacting either the Financial Aid Office, or the Undergrad Admissions Office. Maybe both. Who knows.

Alright, so I did a little bit of stalking of the Class of 2016 and 2015 ED Threads and I found some interesting information.

In last year’s thread, someone noted that the last day to track your application was December 2nd. That year, decisions were released on December 8th (6 days after). This year, the last day to track applications is November 30th. If decisions were to come out 6 days after like last year, we would be looking at the December 6th release date.

I also found some information in the Class of 2015 thread. One poster said that there was a separate financial aid thread, in which applicants saw on their CSS Profiles that decisions would be made on December 9th. These assumptions were correct, as decisions were released that year on the 9th.

Both the application tracker and CSS Profiles are leading us to believe that decisions will in fact be made on the 6th.

it’s gonna be so hard studying for exams if I get rejected just because of how upset I will be. AAAHH so nervous haha

Aaaaaa I can’t even handle it…

Why, this is excellent. That sure does seem like some sound logic. Let’s just hope that we’re happy with the decisions :)

Hmm could it be possible that the CSS profiles were not updated? As in initially they intended to release results the sixth but now that the Hurricane messed everything up it’s not?

The 6th seems to make sense because in the past 2 years at least, the results came back about a week before the 15th, which is the exactly mid-December. And this year, the 6th is the Thursday of the week before the 15th. Let’s just hope Sandy didn’t screw this system up…

@HateSMUS My host was a freshman named Cheyenne, she had that same sort of conviction you described. :)

What’s CSS profile? Is that for financial aid? I don’t have that.
Does it says clearly that decisions will be made in 6th? Bcause on the application tracking portal, i don’t see any date regarding the release date

6th is so soon. I don’t even have first quarter grades yet because Sandy pushed back the quarter
now that we’re getting closer, I’m kind of hoping it’s the 13th…

I just want to know where exactly it says 6th.

If it’s the 6th I’m going to dieeeee even more than I have already. 6 more days. ANXIETYANXIETY

Its actually more like 8. I wish its 6th. If I am gonna find it out, mind as well do it quickly. :p

So from what I understand from my call today, Columbia has had the 6th in mind all along. However Admissions has been reluctant to officially announce it in case they need the few extra days

@Canadian112 it’s 6 of you don’t include today or the 8th itself…

@clssnr -_- my bad LOL.

The 6th should count for a week. That’s sure what it’s going to feel like!

@canadian112 you’re good. I won’t even try to hide the fact that I like being right lol. I’m sure many on this thread can relate (;

ight. I just want to know what CSS is, and if it actually says that officially it is 6th. Is CSS for people applying financial aid?
