anyone get into columbia for questbridge??

My guesses:

1-No one applied via QB.
2-The people that applied though QB got rejected and are too sad to post.

3-They got into their first choice and were not matched with Columbia

what is Questbridge?

It is a way to apply to top universities for low-income high-achieving students.

Polyosophy, true that…that’s the same as my number 2 :D

I was very close to applying though QB, but I figured I had a better chance though ED.

[li] Where else were you accepted/deferred:[/ul] I haven’t applied anywhere else, but I’ve been accepted to UC Santa Barbara, UC Riverside, UC Davis, UC Irvine, UC Merced through ELC[/li]General Comments: I have to tell all future applicants, don’t let these forums scare you out of applying. Reading how high the scores and grades of all the people on here are, and how many activities they have, and all their awards really tends to discourage you. I didn’t expect much from QuestBridge because of this. Just know, your essays can be the diference between an acceptance and rejection… I still can’t believe I’m going to Columbia on a full ride!!!

Congratz man!! You give me hope  !!

Good for you!!! Congrats. We are all so happy for you!

Congrats man!

Congrats! Your acceptance shows that SATs aren’t everything, unlike some of the advice I have gotten on these forums before.

im so confused. i got a letter from questbridge but i didn’t think it was worth it to fill it out. Do they get decisions earlier and like “preferred” acceptance or something??

^^^They get it on Dec. 1st.

It’s not preferred. Its just that if you get accepted though it then you get a free ride.

oh my god… are you kidding me, i should have filled out that application, wow, like im ****ed now

hmm^ didn’t think itd star that out, but im quite miffed

congratulations!! that’s really really exciting news

@die4columbia: Chill. And FYI it’s harder to get accepted into Columbia via QB, than ED.

In other news…

2 of my classmates…one Hispanic and one White… had applied through QB and they got rejected ( They have higher SAT grades and GPAs than the person that got accepted in this topic, and myself)

oh really? i thought they’d look favorably on the whole down and out student thing, well then im happy :D

Congratulations bacedif!
