Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

@christ1n yes, I believe so. They have so many applications to process. What major are you going for?

@christ1n I too have not received an email from cornell…sent my application on October 31

@AC15786 What major did you apply for?

They updated the application-status check website, and it looks nice!! (much easier to find stuff)

I love Cornell and everything…the only thing I’m worried about is the isolation of Ithaca… anyone with me?

@mtjade what major are you applying for?

@sweeticetea environ engineering in CALS, planning on taking up a developmental sociology double major

does anyone know if being an international student attending high school in the United States is considered international or domestic when application is being looked at? Also is that really a disadvantage or advantage?

@mtjade, have you visited? It’s really not that isolated, but even so, it’s a great college town, with plenty of stuff to do

@jamesjunkers‌ yeah i have … I think it’s also because I grew up in the city but my high school right now is really in the middle of nowhere that I’m worried

@mtjade, you applied ed. I’m sure you loved it. You’re probably just getting worried because there’s no turning back. I’m sure if you get accepted, you’ll have the best time. Good luck

@jamesjunkers‌ haha thanks, good luck to you too!

@sweeticetea engineering…and I got the email today :)

@sweeticetea CAS. and @AC15786 i got mine too : ) good luck to both of you.

Just looked at the updated checklist…it’s so weird seeing the official green checks next to everything :open_mouth:

Guys i have sent my SAT 1 scores…but unfortunately the first time i will take SAT subject tests will be on November 8th…Is it possible that they will include the november subject test scores with my application?

Does anyone want to make a tally of where everyone is applying, and to what major (if applicable)? If this sounds crazy, and/or to OCD, you can all just ignore it, I’m just sooo nervous, and will continue to be for the next month!
If you want to continue the idea, just add 1 to the college and major you applied to :slight_smile: (If your major isn’t listed, add it and remove the brackets!)

@AC15786‌ See https://selfservice.admissions.cornell.edu/faq.cfm

"When is the latest I can take the SAT Subject Tests and still have them considered with my application?

If you are applying early decision, the October test date is the latest recommended test date from which we will accept test scores. Applicants are welcome to submit test scores from the November test date, but we cannot guarantee that we will receive the scores before making a decision. For regular decision, we recommend that you take tests by December or January at the latest."

@‌AC15786 They will be received late November, but I’m not sure if they would be okay with that…I would call/email Cornell to actually find out what would happen.

Their website says, “It’s your responsibility to make sure that you have taken the right Subject Tests and have the scores officially reported to Cornell from the testing agency by our application deadline.” :/

@AC15786‌ @fsharp‌ , yes, but they also say somewhere (i don’t have the link) that if your entire application is complete except for the SAT Subject Tests, they will assess you without them, and include them when they receive them (if the specific school requires them)
