Official Cornell Class of 2019 Early Decision

How many people here applied ED to Cornell with out ever actually visiting it? I don’t understand how people make a binding decision before actually visiting the school. From my sophomore to junior year I was dead set on apply ED to Columbia until I visited and realized I would be miserable going there

I am also going to Starbucks!! I am arriving half an hour early to do homework. Should I wait for her to arrive before ordering a PTL?

@Cornell19 Im not sure how people can apply ED without visiting. I dont know of anyone who has applied ED without visiting.

why do you guys want to come to Cornell?

I talked about Professor Strogatz, and how I wanted to add a mathematical perspective to the TRAIL study and The 4000+ courses. There wasnt much room left to discuss more, but I love the campus and the vibe is really good.

Update on the question of what this “interview” is. The person who was my interviewer said all they send to Cornell is if there were certain circumstances that accounted for an uncharacteristicly low anything. Example: If someone’s parent died and they had to take care of a younger sibling. They also mention if something has happened since handing the application in such as a new leadership pos, competition, awards…etc…etc

@manas1997 I talked about a proffesor I talked with during my visit too, a certain class they offered, a research project by Cornell students that was very interesting and some more

This countdown thing is really unhealthy AGH but I don’t know how else to pass the time until December 11th

@manas1997‌ @Cornell19‌ I talked about Professor Saxena in the CS department and talked about how when I read his research papers I knew I wanted to learn from him. I also talked about what he wrote in his research papers that appealed to me.

@Mansa1997‌ @Radbg74‌ I wonder how many people wrote about the same thing. At least I had an interesting beginning haha (one that is sort of confusing that makes you have to read the rest of essay to make sense)

Edit: 16 days!!! (23 hours and 47 mins)

CSS is no longer on Financial Aid to do list :smiley:

@Kungpaoasian and/or anyone else who has submitted everything: Does yours just say there is nothing left to do?

@jamesjunkers Yes it says “No current to do item information found.”

@Kungpaoasian, okay good. Thanks

@jamesjunkers No prob

I submitted everything, but my to-do list still has tax forms on it…? Should I wait a couple days or call the office?

@BroomOfThought, If I were you, I’d give it until tomorrow (they said it will be updated by today, give an extra day), and then call. I’m sure they will be more than helpful. Just tell them you submitted them, and if they say they never received them, I’m sure they’ll just ask you to resubmit via the online submission form. They should get it almost immediately that way.

@jamesjunkers‌ That’s a good idea. Thanks!

My financial aid also says no current to do item information found. Well now time to sit around and wait for Ferguson decision! Got to find things to occupy my time for next 16 days

Is this stuff for Financial Aid? Or for the general application?

Financial aid
