Official Cornell Early Decision Class of 2018

My code has an A, but yeah that probably is just random… I’m super jealous of your coding skills Hippoman

HIPPO MAN YOULL BE A HERO FOREVER IF YOU CAN DO IT I love you

Figure it out hippo man!!! be a hero!!!

Lol you guys…

http://tw.gs/RbS5cX</a></p>

Ok, highlighted in the blue is a nice system Cornell made:

Before the reveal time, it counts down seconds as we wait and die.

At the reveal time, it tells Cornell to launch the decision at you.

And, past the reveal time, the system counts backwards TO the reveal time so Cornell can launch that decision.

This is looking good!

Not trying to be a buzzkill here, but the only thing it leads to is a new webpage file, “fl_ViewDecision.aspx”, which is on their private server obviously. It is impossible to view, unless somebody manages to hack into the applyyourself server by tomorrow night.

I am going to go on the limb to say that the timer would need to be on the server side, not on the client side, for it to work. Lets assume if you could possibly hack into Cornell’s decision site, they would know who logged in before 12/16 5pm. If you were to search on the Stanford forum, there were few kids who did hack into Stanford’s site few years back and posted on CC. They were warned by Stanford that their acceptance maybe rescinded. I don’t think it would be worth it.

Cornell’s websites are not well organized. Each department (admission, bursar, housing…) have their own site and not well coordinated. They may load information ahead of each other.

@samh1210 Right, but it should be possible to get if one can:

 1. modify the timer
 2. refresh the countdown

@oldfort Hmm. I think that’s right. I’m still going to try. :O

@hippoman It’s on their private server… you cannot change it without impressive hacking skills

Okay yeah be careful hippoman! D:

@samh1210
I’ve hacked better :o
Also, I got pretty far before it became annoying. I changed the ‘technical support’ button to link to the decision given the local timer. It sent me to the decision but came up with ‘PIN errors’, which I don’t think I can get around.

[Stanford rejects applicants who used hack - Technology & science - Security | NBC News](<a href=“Stanford rejects applicants who used hack”>Stanford rejects applicants who used hack)

good luck hippoman, I won’t be using this after reading about the Stanford incident, but it would be cool to see someone do it

@milkweed Thank goodness I couldn’t get all the way in :stuck_out_tongue: (but I’m probably rejected anyway)…

Okay yeah I just read some articles about how they rejected 40 students just for trying to see them, even though they only got blank pages. So probablyyyy not worth it haha

Edit: okay I’m late I didn’t see you all post before me :p

@yalesoon Definitely. I just thought it would be a fun experiment. :P

I don’t think it made sense to reject those applicants, though^. The hackers: sure.

You guys have no idea what the hell you’re talking about (“private servers” …no if they were private we wouldn’t be able view the application webpage and stuff). Anyways all you have to do is go to console and type ShowDecision() when you’re on the page that Hippoman was on. That should work. It might not, but dont say stuff isn’t possible and dont call this “hacking” because this has NOTHING TO DO WITH HACKING.

@thesundancekid
I don’t think you understand the concept of private servers… I was able to change what the website asked for given the parameters the coders created, but I couldn’t access certain files because Cornell has their private servers set to: Do not give out these pages yet, so we can’t get them.

This was hacking, by the way.

@hippoman totally understandable, and really tempting :frowning: haha but we’ve waited this long, we can make it 20 more hours! :)

Someone try what thesundancekid said, now I’m curious haha
