idk if it was swaying tho. neither made more sense bc swaying would mean to make them change their opinion tho…and it didnt say anything about that. it just said rocking critics …

I put astonishing as well.

Yeah that was a dumb question. They shoulda said “surprised” or something like that, showing that they underestimated the quality cloth art.

so what’s the consensus? jesus christ you guys are scaring the crap out of me :(

i think its swaying cuz it said they eventually liked the quilt or w.e.

I think I put swayed as well, but I really don’t know

Ugh, the argument my friend used was the context. "(Blah blah hyping up cloth art), even rocking critics who generally dismissed cloth art. Dismissed means like they just disregard it or ignore it; thus they didn’t truly have an opinion, so how could they be swayed… I was just so flustered b/c I was just thinking about the one question even afterwards in the next section.

@bmonticello did the passage say the critics changed their mind? If so, then it’s highly possible that it could be swaying. Otherwise, this was a bad question @.@

yeah thats the problem. my friend said it says that, but in that context astonished makes no sense either

Yeah it was so stupid. I wish the choices were clearer.

I put astonished, and I am pretty sure that is right because like the other person said it sounded more like the art critics (or whoever) didn’t even regard cloth art as art until they saw it. So it wasn’t like they had a bad view of cloth art then got swayed into a more positive one…

Did anyone else get “flawless design” for the violin question asking what the human voice was compared to? If they wanted us to draw a connection between “a musical instrument” and the “human voice” wouldnt they have just asked us what the VIOLIN was compared to? in “Joe runs like a cheetah”, Joe is being compared to a cheetah; the cheetah is certainly not being compared to Joe. I think what the human voice is being compared to (or equated to) is a flawless design: the perfect example of sound adaptability. Anyone else agree?

what was the answer to the space passage where it ask what passage 2 author would agree on human voyages. It’s not the humans travel faster answer.

how is it not?

@neskier…it said in the passage “critics who had dismissed cloth art” something like that indicating they HAD dismissed it, but they were then swayed. at least that was my reasoning bc it didnt say anything about their reaction and them being astonished.

@sgtgutter i checked both passages and they both said that rovers were slower than humans explicitly

Dismiss - To stop considering; rid one’s mind of; dispel: dismissed all thoughts of running for office.

If you dispel something from your mind that means you don’t have any thoughts on that subject, not that you have a negative or positive impression.

Honestly we should just chill and wait until the 20th, but I can’t stop stressing haha.

@bmonticello Was that an answer choice, what were the other answer choices

This isn’t the question with “humans are faster” as an answer choice

@NWskier Does that mean it’ll be swaying because the critics are neutral? :D

What was the answer to the question in the violin passage about the violinist who left the Stradivari in the hotel room? Why was she different?

She was able to leave her violin behind when she left for Finland.
