nyc1478- I just realized your son took the International test. There are other threads for that test.

Unlike the previous SAT (October), no one is certain about the answers to the CR questions. I wouldn’t worry too much about correct answers on this test; it’s not going to help, and for all you know, everyone else could be wrong. I have already seen several incorrect math problems and conflicting ideas about the right answer to CR questions. Obviously this isn’t going to/supposed to deter people from posting their opinions/answers, but my point is, I don’t think anyone should get worked up about missing one or two problems (because no one definitively knows the answer to many of the CR questions). There doesn’t seem to be a general consensus about very many questions.

i agree 5 thousand but its still fun to talk about! I have noticed wrong answers, too. This is the first time this has happened on CC though. I think its because a ton of people didnt take it because of the hurricane. usually by now we would have had an almost complete compilation of the answers. Its also helpful in case we want to cancel our scores! which my brother did once because he knew he really messed it up after the test. so you never know who you might help! i’m just sayin…

I also put approval for organic one

1)) In Bach passage, was the answer “flawed” about interpreting “that’s it!”?
was “accomplisehed” one of the answer choices?

2)) In fillipino writer passage, what was the question for “having role model in writing”?

in sentence completion, what was the question for “demanded… threat”? was it about agitator or prosecutor? I remember I put “somethign…recant” for one of them and “cultivate…castigate” for the other

3)) In fingerprint passage, was “to extend the previous metaphor” about interpreting a line?
was “to encapsulate the author’s main point in that paragraph” one of the answer choice?

4)) In writing passage, the third to the last question was about inserting a sentnece at the beginning of the 4th paragraph and the answer choices were: “this was not yet to place for future…” “Its apperacne has changed since then” “Those ppl would be surprised how today’s aviation can travel in 3 or 4 hours” “its changes reflect the history of aviation” and “its biggest change was human shipping in aviation” something like these
Does anybody remember the answer?

I’ll try to compile answers as soon as get answers above

yes it was flawed

it asked what the main point of the passage was i believe, and role model wasn’t the answer

the second author quoted the guy from the mark twain about fingerprint “being a language” then went on to say stuff about writing and speaking, so basically extending the metaphor, the question asked why the second author put in the things about writing and sepaking

I’m not sure, but that was from writing so it doesn’t really belong here.

was “tackle” dealt with?

Kieran- thank you! tackled=dealt with. I also agree with your other answers listed above (1-3).

do you remember an answer being “imitate” on that same Bach passage?

trieste- I agree with Kieran about #2 2)) In fillipino writer passage, what was the question for “having role model in writing”?

I do not think that was the correct answer. Wasn’t more like finding something to be a source for writing about his characters?

I don’t remember the seeing animals in the dark one. I do remember the article about the young girl whose uncle wanted her to marry this rich guy, but she said no because she was cultured and believed in love. That wasn’t in my experimental. Does anyone else remember that story from the test?

I had math experimental and I also did not have a story about seeing animals in dark

In sentence completion, what was the question for “demanded…threat” ?
was it one of either prosecutor or agitator? I remember I put “cultivate…castigate”
for agitator and “impugn…recant” for prosecutor one

I had the seeing animals in the dark passage. I don’t remember if it was short or medium though.

trieste- you had to have that passage. It only had 2 questions and the answer to one of them was FURTIVE. It was next to the other short 2 question passage about the writer.

also, cultivated/castigate was correct for the aggressor question and impugn recant was correct for the one about the attorney and the witness.

Novel, what were the other answer choices for the furtive answer question? I don’t remember seeing furtive.

@novel oh I just remembered now thx
@haphazard furtive was the correct answer I think the question was about describing the animals I do not quite remember other answer choices

So what was the sentence about “demand…threat” and its other answer choices? remember?

I also don’t remember a passage about seeing animals in the dark. Does anyone know what the other answer was or either of the questions?

Since no one is on the writing thread, can someone just clarify what the writing experimental was? Was the air travel passage with the blimp and ‘improving air travel for the future’ passage the real section?

I am still a bit confused with the Bach passage. Why was the answer “he faced a particular challenge”, not because “he discovered a hidden talent?”

^ it never said he got really good at it, or that he found he was ever good at it. at the end it just said he was struggling to keep up with the woman teacher, and she helped him see how Bach all fit together etc.

BACH- someone posted the link to the passage. If you read it, you will see the above poster is correct. It was a challenge not a hidden talent.

HAPHAZARD- I can’t remember the other answer choicess because i knew what furtive meant and it described the passage perfectly…that the animals were really hard to see at night.

did anyone ever find the Glacier passage?

Oh, I just remembered the animals one - it was something about how you could only see them after long periods of waiting, searching for them, etc. The other question was about the purpose of that sentence and the answer (I think) was “to describe a difficult process”.

Ihateyouall - I had experimental math and I had the blimp one so it was a real section.
