Official Crtitical Reading Discussion Thread November

I got tame too man… Everyone says it’s brisk, but tame fit the sentence perfectly

It definitely was brisk. It described the movie as “never seeming to flag,” which means it didn’t slow down. Brisk means fast-paced.

Also, did anyone get “corrective…omissions” for one of the sentence completions?

yes, I got corrective ommissions! and it’s brisk for sure.

anyone remembers “demanded…threat” sentence completion question?

^ the one about the lawyer and the witness? I think it was something with recant

^ was definitely recant.

What’s yall put for the brother/sister question? I had eager to talk to. and I had tame also. not sure if it was right though

Dude I am getting so lucky on this SAT! It must be fate! I hope I can crack 2200 this time.

Was tackle really dealt with? I was going to put that, but I remember changing to something else at the very end, something like “restore”. Gah, I feel like I did a lot worse this time on CR.

Also for the “flawed” question, was “successful” an answer choice? I’m certain I didn’t put flawed, but can’t remember what I put.

tackle was dealt with…

and I dont remember this…“What’s yall put for the brother/sister question? I had eager to talk to.”

What was that questiona about and which passage?

^ I think that’s referring to the calligraphy passage. The question asked about the narrator’s brother’s reaction when she asked him to read the page to her. I believe the correct answer was that he felt uncomfortable because she was in the men’s quarters.

For the calligraphy, the brother smiled while teasing his sister earlier on about being in the men’s quarters. Essentially, he wasn’t actually uncomfortable.

christiano, i have to disagree. For one, he told his sister that she had to leave after he was finished telling her the story. He smiled and teased his sister, but he was clearly uncomfortable about her presence in a males-only zone.

^ trueeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

^ nope. I don’t think in comfortable is the right word. Do you guys know the other choices?

I don’t remember the other choices, but I am pretty sure uncomfortable was right.

If he wasn’t uncomfortable, then why would he want her to leave?

read the darn passage. It has been posted several times. If you read the passage, it is clear that she was not supposed to be in the boys’ quarters and he was uncomfortable that she was there. He tells her to go back to the inner room. again, if you read the passage there is zero doubt as to the correct answer.

which section do u think was the experimental? i hope the korean girl one isnt experimental cuz i found it easier than the other two

My first and only section where I got an 800 in!
