it was looking for the entire perimeter but the way they asked the question didn’t make sense, unless there’s some universal law with perimeters that i missed (i didnt). so i guessed p>_6 but i could be completely wrong.

I definitely think this math section was harder than before. I’m in Calc 3 and I think I only got to like 51… so I had to randomly fill in 9 -_- plus maybe I got 1 or 2 wrong. So annoyed especially since I think all my other scores were pretty high

For the perimeter one it was greater than or equal to 24. A square always has the smallest perimeter out of any combination of rectangles with the same area (36x1, 12x3, 4x9, 6x6, etc.) and since 6+6+6+6=24, that’s the answer.

@Leighhopeful
Agreed. I took calculus last year and have always considered myself decent at math. 34M last time, but I’d be lucky to get above a 30 this time…

Holy *, I am so irritated right now. Damn, this section took me by surprise. I ran out of time so I guess on a *load. Goddamn

@SAT128
I know right?! Ugh I know math is going to drastically effect my composite score. Suucks. I feel like if we couldn’t finish and we’re in math levels beyond Calculus then they should reevaluate.

What was the answer for the one with 2w + 7 = |-2| or something like that?

No, see, the problem is that they test at a normal high school senior level, and most seniors have not gone beyond Precalc by then.

People like us, who have gone beyond it, tend to overthink the questions…I know I do that. We can’t bring our minds back to that level. I know it sounds super egotistical, but it’s true.

@purmou
eh yeah you’re right. I’ve gotten a little rusty on some of the precal too considering I took it 2 years ago, so yeah I pretty much failed the section

@purmou
No I get what you’re saying and I definitely agree with it. I know on the SAT I definitely over thought some questions and tried to solve them with calculus… which didn’t work. haha it’s just frustrating.

jackz99, isn’t the answer -5/2?

you solve 2w+7=2

Let me know if my logic is wrong.

I think it asked for the number of solutions?

No, it wanted the number of correct solutions, if I remember correctly the answer was 2.

The first two pages were super easy, then more geometry and trig came in and it went down hill from there… I was hoping for a 27/28 in math, not completely sure I will get it though.

The correct answer was 1. Lol |-2| is equal to 2

Was one of the answers Arctan (3/8)?

yess^ 10char

Yes, it was one solution.
And I remember getting the ArcTan answer

lol no, I think you’re forgetting your rules on absolute value.

You have to consider that a question like l-2l=2x+1 yields:
2=2x+1
AND
2=-(2x+1)

Thus 2 solutions.

thats only if the absolute value is around the x +c term other wise -2 or 2 will always be 2 and there will only be one solution i know i missed 3 but i really need a 33 on math so idk if anyone else comes up with questions say them because im grading my self as we go
