Official December SAT I Forum

I put no error as well.

imnastywitit
i got two wrong last time and none omited
and i got 760

ok if it was f(x) = |3x-17|, then
f(5) = 2, so
f(a) < a; 2 < 5, check.
but for some reason i remember 2x instead of 3x

imanidiot. I think I for got to multiply 7/2 by 4

Last time the curve went 790 760 740 720 DUDE 3 wrong is the worst thing that can happen to u

f(x)=|3x - 7| is what I recall.

f(a)<a

5 was the easiest answer, although you can solve for the full range of possibilities.

I got 4 wrong in math on my last test - 710.

asz, you go cerritos or whitney? haha cypress here.

yea i friggen hate the math curve it should just go 790 780 770 and so forth *** is the point ahh

oltimer, if f(x) = |3x - 7|, then f(5) = 8, making f(a) NOT < a.
im pretty sure it was 3x - 17, not 7.

Also, on writing section 10, what did you guys put for the Szechen cooking sentence? I put the original sentence because most of the other choices had "one cook" not "one cooks."

then it would be called a line and not a curve. :)

i've gotten 3 wrong on both the november and march tests, both = 720

paniwani, you are correct

SAT I Math:

How many consecutive numbers between 0-1000 = triplets. ---> 9

How many rectangles? ---> 4+

Telephone ---> 40

(3x+y)/y.....x/y ---> 1/15

wood & glass (red/blue) marbles ---> 20

red/white/blue outfits ---> 6

triangle, which is not possible ---> y=z

??? ---> k = 4n/3

Venn Diagrams ---> 10

cylinder, rectangular prism ---> (d^2)h

red/green marbles ---> 8

4n - 4 = k ---> 52

f(x) = |3x-17| ---> multiple answers

Perimeter = area....---> k=1.6

From my own memory (I have the math experimental, so don't worry if you don't recognize some of them), UNCHECKED

cds in box ---> 32

x@ = (x+1)(x-1)...6@ - 5@ ---> 2@ + 3@

hexagon pattern ---> 91

graph: ax+2, (a/3)x+2 ---> wider

graph: equal distance...(a,b) ---> (-a,b)

graph: one angle = 80degrees, two others were equal ---> 50degrees

there was a SC about some type of Puerto Ricans and another type of people that started w/ the letter T:
i chose the tenable answer
any ideas?

ok collegeboard if u got 2 wrong its a 760 if u get 3 wrong its a 720. i dont get it. however, i think this test will be more forgiving cuz on the oct test.. like.. there was that one super hard grid in hence the 790. then after that there was really no second hardest tough problem. On this test, there wwere like 3 math probs that prob gave a lot of ppl trouble. So maybe then the curve would be like 770, 760, 750, 730..

wats the hexagon one?

after the SAT, i always wish i didn't delete CS

hexagon pattern:
1. 1 hexagon
2. 1 hexagon + 6 hexagon around it
....
5. How many hexagons?

namkim, what was the symmetry x=2 you mentioned earlier?
