Official December SAT I Forum

the sundry/bucolic one was on the experimental, it was number 7

and number 8 the answer was lugubrious, that was experimental as well, so its ok if u got it wrong

since everyone is arguing against answers I'm guessing the curve will be generous (for math and reading at least, probably not writing.)

no sundry/bucolic counted...

its not experimental. i got the pink covered (which means no experimental) and i got bucolic.

bucolic means farm like or some crap, thank you princeton review.

The curve wont be that great. The top tier of test takers are arguing over a small section of questions, but we agree that the CR passages were easy to understand and relate to overall. Especially compared to the March SAT where there was a passage arguing that newer buildings were inherently less capable of providing aesthetic pleasure than older ones.

what do you think the curve will be like?

The whole question about getting a high 700 score is: do you think you did better than 99% of the people who took the test?

99% out of like a a couple thousand people is a lot
edit: not that i'm a part of 99%

which sentence completetion questions were part of the experimental section?

i though it was the one with bucolic and lugubrious, but i guess I was wrong

i don't remember lugubrious, but bucolic was def. not experimental

what was the lugubrious question? i remember that word, but i remember immediately crossing it out.

it was question 8 of the last reading section for me

I thought it was the experimental though

Cus the one with bucolic and lugubrious was the one with the governess who was that dumb ho that everyone fell in love with and then she stole that one fools magic toys, so i think that was the exper; the one with the governess and bucolic and lugubrious

the last reading section

hmm? there was a sentence about a governess? i don't remember

the governess was experimental. bucolic was NOT in that one.

which sentence completions were in the governess one

Equating (the one that doesn't count toward your score)

Reading (includes 2 long passages)

Reading

Math

Writing

Does this mean the second Grid-In was experimental!? Im happy if it is!
Also, was the second gird-in section the problem with the Venn Diagram?

But I do remember that I had a section 3 CR and section 4 Writing, so im kind of confused. I think they didnt put the correct order on the website because my order was:

Essay

Math

Reading

Writing

Equating (the one that doesn't count toward your score

Math (includes SPR questions)

Reading (includes 2 long passages)

Reading

Math

Writing

They don't have this order on the site, but I'm still hoping the second Grid-in is the experimental section? And I hope the Venn Diagram is on the Experimental too.

hrm, does anyone else find these post-SAT threads depressing (when you've just taken the SATs)? I can't stay away, and when I look at the answers I'm like "Dang it! I missed that one?!" Yeah... :(

Yeah, it's depressing but it's better than feeling supremely disappointed when you get a letter saying your suppposed 2400 is below 2000.

aszx, you are posting the order from the November 5th administration of the test. The order for yesterday test will not be out until Wednesday, which is when we will find out what section was experimental. But as of now, if you had 2 math grin-ins, the section that had the question: Radical(x+7) - 5, what number for x is less than 5 and a positive integer, something like that, and I got 42 as my answer, that section was experimental. The section with the phone problem, the tri factoring, and the 10 squares with area = perimeter was NOT experimental.
