Official December SAT I Forum

I know I asked this already, but what was the correct answer for the "what any particular bird" question? I wrote no error.

d^2h was the volume of the prism that surrounded the cylinder.

d^2 * h??? possibly?

I don't remember the numbers in the phone thingy, but it goes like that:

let's suppose that on line A you pay x$ up to the twentieth minute and x' for each minute later.

And on line B, you pay y$ for each minute.

We want to have the number of minutes for which you'll pay the same on line A and B.

you'd have the equation:

x + (t-20)x' = yt

And you solve for t. It would be 40.

i got bucolic as well. because bucolic refers to nostalgia, or the old

therefore, rural life and farms qualify as "bucolic".

as for the rectangular shape** inside the circle i put more than 3/4 because its potentially infinite?

For the s.c 5 (the one before the bucolic/sundry/lungbarious) did you guys put "mistaken... (forgot word)" or "wrongheaded...(forgot word)"

I put wrongheaded.

yeah it was d^2 times h because only a square base of d would completely encase the bottom and then times h to cover the whole thing

I'm pretty sure there is an infinite number of rectangles inside the circle. If you move each point of an already drawn rectangle by the same distance, you can draw infinite rectangles because a circle has an infinite number of points.

***kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk I REALLY hate SATs

Do you remember the phrase "as a means of"?
If the subject is singular, shouldn't it be "as a mean of"?

I hope second math grid in was experimental! because i left 2 blank for that one! Also, does this sentence make sense wiht the cook? "Szenchen cooking requires that one cook without interruption" Is cook supposed to be cooks!?

For CR did the Hispanic girl feel resigned and defeated, and did the regular mean unvarying?

yea what was that one?

i didnt put wrong headed and im regretting it right now =[

i put unvarying for hispanic girl.

recurring didnt make any sense

Are you sure it's infinite? I thought it could only touch the points there? I'm probably wrong!

for the rectangle in the circle, did u have to use the point along the circle given to u, because if u didn't, then yes, it is infinte (greater than 4)

i also put the Hispanic girl feel resigned and defeated

"I'm pretty sure there is an infinite number of rectangles inside the circle. If you move each point of an already drawn rectangle by the same distance, you can draw infinite rectangles because a circle has an infinite number of points."

yea, i put more than 3/4 for that question

Bucolic means relating to farm life and country life, so it's correct.

Are you guys sure the marble one was 20? I was so sure it was 0...

Originally there were 25 marbles red marbles, 25 green marbles.
3 red marbles are removed, and 4 green marbles are removed.

There are now 22 red marbles and 21 green marbles.

13 more marbles are removed. Can't you just remove all thirteen green marbles and there would be more red?

for that question i put she felt like angered/fearful ish?

i put that she felt fearful + uncertain

I put that the Puerto Rican girl felt fearful and uncertain, but I'm not sure about that answer. I put that regular meant customary, but I'm also not sure about that.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=means
"means (used with a sing. or pl. verb) A method, a course of action, or an instrument by which an act can be accomplished or an end achieved."
So I guess "means" is correct?
