<p>Interesting question. What was S2s ACT? Strikes me as odd, accepting one and apparently deferring the other. Unless there was a wide disparity, you expect them to be treated similarly.</p>

<p>Yes, my thanks also to Pokemon2000 for that information. I’ve been admitted to 5 schools (applied EA to all, 4 public, one private); only BU has had this mysterious, protracted notification process complicated by the back-door Pay Your Deposit notification twist. At this point, it has become the process that’s frustrating me, rather than the fear of being deferred or rejected.</p>
<p>Usually Binghamton does it so that the letters arrive they day they’re supposed to - the 23rd. I don’t know how they manage this but they do haha. Everyone–rejected, deferred, and accepted-- will get a letter. Also, the reason Binghamton’s notification day is the 23rd is because they extended it back in October/November because of the snowstorm to make sure EA applicants had enough time to apply. Naturally because of that you find out later too. Still annoying, but I know of a few people who wouldn’t have been able to apply EA if it weren’t for that extension, so I think finding out a bit later than other schools is worth it. :)</p>
<p>BUbearcat19: thanks for that explanation. Actually, it’s not the date of the acceptance that bugs me; that I understand because of the freak October snowstorm. It’s the Pay Your Deposit notification thing that has some people cautiously aware of their acceptance while others still wait, perhaps to be accepted, perhaps not, that doesn’t work for me. I think it would be less stressful for all if access to admissions decisions was the same for all, so that everyone learned the news, good or bad, on pretty much the same day.</p>

One person posted on another thread that he received his acceptance letter today (he lives very close to BU). Not sure if he was able to log in to Pay Your Deposit before receiving the letter. In any event, we should be receiving word soon.</p>

<p>I agree about the pay your deposit thing being kindof annoying since it leaves a LOT of people hanging. But only the people who are accepted are supposed to be able to reach the link, it just somehow leaks every year… Good luck to everyone who still can’t get on… Theres still 5 days!</p>

<p>When I tried to log in to the “pay your deposit” site- about an hour ago, it showed up as “Error” (I tried a few times to make sure i didn’t put in the wrong password, etc)
