gpa: 3.9/4.0
ranked 18/793
ECS: swim team all 4 years, debate team
have no idea why. oh well, i still love notre dame. GO IRISHH!!!!!!!!!!

Decision: Accepted!

Stats:[ul]
[] SAT: 1480/2240
[] SAT IIs: 760 US History, 740 Math2, 740 Lit
[] ACT: n/a
[] GPA: 3.99 unweighted
[] Rank: 5/1050
[] Other stats: 5 AP exams, all 5's; National Merit Finalist; have taken 16 AP/Honors/dual credit courses
[/ul]Subjective:[ul]
[] Essays: main one was just okay; I used the second one to talk about my love for ND
[] Teacher Recs: He said I exemplify the best traits in mankind... so that one was nice...
[] Counselor Rec: She has no idea who I am. It was pretty weak.
[] Hook (if any): Not a legacy; Notre Dame Summer Experience 2006; I know a couple professors, but I'm not sure if they wrote a letter or not, and I didn't want to ask
[] ECs: Varsity dance team member and captain, president of new student mentor group, Sunday school teacher, DECA national event finalist, NHS, freshman mentor, Diversity Focus Group
[/ul]Location/Person:[ul]
[] State or Country: Indiana
[] School Type: Public
[] Ethnicity: white (and Catholic)
[] Gender: female
[] major strength/weakness: I go to a huge high school, and we've had some successful students at ND... my neighbor was valedictorian. I think putting my application in the context of my high school helped.
[] why you think you were accepted/rejected/defered: haha... Prayer? I think because my application was decent across the board. There wasn't one category, like test scores, that would have been the best they had ever seen, but I don't think I gave them a reason NOT to let me in. But who knows.
[] going to attend? Enrolled a month ago! I got in everywhere else, but you just don't turn down Notre Dame.
[/ul]Other Factors:
Congrats to everyone else who got in, and good luck to all those applying RA and to those who were deferred- the wait is the worst part. But the big white envelope makes it all worth it :)

sabrina1, u are brilliant! is this a lie?

[/ul][ b]Subjective:[ /b][ list]
[] Essays: I liked mine, don't think it was anything special though...
[] Teacher Recs: one was really good (she let me read it) for the other i have no idea, it must have been decent, but other than that...?

[li] going to attend? Defintely #1 out of the 4 schools I've gotten accepted to (bc, U of m honors, UNC Chapel HIll), but if I get into Cornell or Harvard (yeah, right) will be a hard choice...[/li][/ul][ b]Other Factors: I really loved the campus :)**

oh, AP Scores: AP Euro 4, AP Comp Sci 5, Physics B 5, Chem 4, Us Hist 5, taking 7 this yr........

I wish more people who got rejected or deferred would post stats so the line might be a little easier to draw for anxiously awaiting RDErs... we won't judge you I swear!!

I second that, slim.

thanks for posting and congrats on getting into those more competitive schools!

seems to me that college admissions in general are a gamble nowadays

Where did you get in CK2308?

i got deferred.

Work: I save lives...
ok i lifeguard and havn't really ever had to do a real save... just little things...

umm thats all i can think of right now but im going off work, 3 hours of sleep, and angels and airwaves concert friday night.

the possible kicker is I've applied for ROTC. Idk how much or if that helps.

Ps. did any of you guys see Harengody nail those 3s the other night when he went for 40 against louisville

broke your knee??? oh geez, isn't the kneecap the most painful part of the body? hope you're feeling better

Does anyone know what a 31 would translate to SATs? I know nothing about ACTs..

Apparently the rotc has no pull in the admissions process. If you get selected for the rotc early then its annotated on your application, but I asked one of the admissions guys and he said that they don't consider the rotc in the admissions process.

kinda confusing but the ACT score on top matches witht eh SAT right below it

Thanks for that, helps a lot since some people only post ACT scores.

thats all we take here in the midwest lol
sorry to throw you guys off.
but thats also just rough estimates.
you can't really compare the 2 fairly, they just aren't the same

haha I'm probably the only one thrown off; I know nothing about them

wish I had taken it since you don't have to send it or anything
