Official Early Action Decisions 2014

lol yeah the scholarship does make me kinda want to go there too! lol jk i shudnt be saying that…it shouldnt influence me lol. ur the only other person that ive seen with about the same amount in scholarship money as me! u got a really high sat score! whats ur first choice or first few choices?

Currently “deferred” i guess you can say. Dodge rejected me from Film Prod. but I wanted to change anyway…anyone going into health sciences?

Has anyone heard about getting in for the theatre program Fall 2010? I am on pins and needles!!!

i applied as health sciences but when i got an email from a chapman prof., she said that i chose the wrong major, basically and i should ask them to change it for me because that is more for ppl who want to be physical therapists and that stuff.

I’m looking into the PA field…so thats what I responded for my second choice…hopefully its easier…I think I’ll get in

whats the PA field? yeah i got in and i dont have great stats. i had 1850 sats and 4.1 gpa. didn’t get into NYU. : [

Physician Assistant.
Awww, sorry to hear about your rejection
You thinking about going to Chapman?

How did you find out you were “deferred”? Letter or online? Thanks, haven’t heard. Online says Decision Complete which doesn’t sound promising for Film Prod. major.

hah thanx. yeah it kinda sux but oh well. my parents didnt want me to go and it was all kind of done behind their back lol although i figured i would tell them about it…just in case. I didn’t want to just be like Hey! I got in! And i kind of have to go there…since its early decision…u know? me n my dad went to see it to 2 weeks before the deadline and it was an awesome school. just like i wanted. oh well. haha

is chapman really good for film or something? seems like a lotta ppl applied for film there.

wouldn’t a PA not make as much as say an actual physician…is there a major difference? how come you chose a PA over P?

@licar54
an email was sent to me saying that I’d get a second shot because of “strong credentials” or something like that so I replied saying I’d like to switch to a degree in Health Sciences. My Webadvisor status changed back to Decision Pending. I’ll probably declare a minor in something within Dodge.

I thought Chapman only offered EA not ED? Yeah Chapman supposedly has a really great Production program. Well of course a PA would not make as much $$$ as an actual physician…but they still make very good income ($80,000 median range) A PA works under the supervision of a physician/doctor…pretty much I’m interested in becoming a PA rather than a physician is because the of the schooling. PA programs are usually 2 years after you get your bachelors. Physicians go through 4 years of undergrad, 4 years med school, plus 3-7 years of residency.

oh i c…i want to be a doctor of some sort and now im having second thoughts because of the MCATs. I’m not a genius and i probably won’t score high on the MCATs lol unless i reallly study. but i guess i have to study the sciences until they let me change…idk if you have to take it to become a pediatrician or pharmacist. i dont think so for a pharmacist.

and yeah ur right…chapman doesnt offer ED. i was talkin about NYU’s ED.

are there any celebs from chapman?

edit*woops double post

I’m sure there are some celebs…lol
I was thinking of becoming a pharmacist too…but not too sure…another 4 years of pharmacy school…ugh :frowning:
Pharmacists take the PCAT as apposed to the MCAT…go look at Chapman’s health sciences degree program…should tell you what the whole programs about and what it prepares you for.

I am applying for the Film production major. And I take it now that if I did not receive an email, and my webadvisor status says decision complete… I got rejected.

The switch to a second major notifications come though email?

-Alex

Decision complete doesn’t mean that you got rejected outright. If the admissions committee deems you as a strong candidate for admissions then they will think of giving you a second review over a different major. (at least thats what they did with me) They tell you it is highly unlikely that you can transfer over to the film prod. major if you attend. (I was going to switch majors anyway…shoulda decided earlier) But yes I did get the notification through email.

Thanks for the additional info. No email to change majors and Decision Complete adds up to bad news is in the mail. Have you ever heard of Dodge having a waitlist for film prod? It seems like some of the others probably applied to USC and not all admitted students will go to Dodge.

Just a quick note about “Decision Complete”. Apparently, it is not always bad news. It was either on this discussion board or another Chapman board where I read about one person who just needed to provide some additional information and then the student was accepted and there was another student whose Decision Complete was changed to Accepted the next day without having to do a thing.

Well… haha looks like I got two completely different ideas now.

Hopefully it will pull through, but right now I am planning on a rejection. Hopefully the admissions office can give me an idea on what to work on if I wanted to transfer in the next year.

-Alex

So a “Decision Complete” does not mean I am rejected? I checked mine on Friday and its Decision Complete… so how long am i suppose to wait for the letter?
