Official ED Class of 2013 Thread

Hello, I'm new here! Applying ED to Brown.

If you're a nice smart person, good luck and if we're fortunate enough, we can be classmates!

If you're a mean smart person, boo on you for making it harder for me. :(

^haha! I agree with onions.

I third Onions' statement

hi everyone, im applying ed to plme, i have a question about taking sat subject tests in november, do i have to rush the scores to them in order for them to be considered or can i just send them normally?

Hey bicyclekick,
No need to rush them. Just mention brown as a score recipient and its as good as rushed. I did the same thing last year when I applied and colleges were very cool about your scores reaching them. Don't worry, brown will get them.

I too am applying next week! Yes! For the counselor recommendation, should I send it in with the teachers', or seperate?

I am applying too...hopefully submitting it in the next day or two. Math major!

thanks norolimasfaloth

I have a question.....
Since I'm taking the SAT IIs on Nov 1st, should I send my SAT scores in earlier or will they be on the Nov score report from SAT IIs?

I'm applying Brown ED too. Haven't started my supplement and I just gave my teachers the recommendation forms today.

lol me

oh, do i have to call brown and notify them that i have scores coming after my app is sent in?

I haven't started the supplement either. I know what I'm going to write about...The Foutainhead, Ayn Rand, FTW?

But yeah. I should've started......Like 2 months ago. Like a good student.

Gaaa that book, The Fountainhead, changed the way I think.

I'm not writing about it tho.

But yeah that's a fawesome book to write about.

Ooo how did it change the way you thought?

I figure it'll make me sound intellectual [[and snobbish?]] enough for them to LET ME IN!!! XD

God. December 13/15th with either be the best, or worst day of my life....Unless I get deferred. In which case I'll still puke...just not so much. T_T

I read it the start of freshman year, and since then I've been a much more independent thinker, and admittedly I did get my share of objectivist ideas, some of which are still with me. Before reading, I suppose I didn't understand why being a member of a group made me uncomfortable, but Rand explained it so eloquently. Plus, it starts with Roark diving off a cliff... how could it not be awesome?

Also..... lucky me... my birthday is December 16. Either gonna be the best or the worst birthday present ever.

Yeah if I get rejected/deffered early then the day nearly every college releases their regular decisions (March 31) is my birthday.

Hey guys I have a problem
How long after inviting them on the commonapp did your teachers receive the onlin rec thing? Because I invited my teachers like 6 days ago and they haven't received anything! They've finished my recs and forms but just need to upload them.

Ask them to check their spam folders, that happened to one of my teachers. But it should come pretty much right away.

Just submitted my entire application! Scary!
p.s. any seniors out there, how good does it feel not to have to take the PSAT today.
:]

sooo good! All the frosh are taking a pre ACT thing, and the sophomores and juniors are taking the psat. School doesn't start until 11!
