Aspire, my school's IB too. 39-40 predicted score is definitely good, but as far as I know colleges do NOT look at your IB predicted scores. If you have tests completed, you can self report them, like AP.

Its nauseating to think about the strength of the admissions pool, but sure, why not:

GPA: 4.0 UW, ACT: 33 superscored, 32 in one sitting, 10 on writing, no APs, but all IB courses, 6 on chem SL, not so good SAT 2 scores (650 chem, 650 lit, 680 math, but I'm retaking and hoping they'll only look at my ACT since the subject tests werent required), rank 1/352 UW, 16/352 W.

ECs: Debate (captain for 2 years, officer for 4, a whole slew of awards), Dance (a few hours a week, I have danced for 16 years), Knitting (for an orphanage in Mongolia, I've made a ****ton of scarves), Marketing for the Robotics team, and I've worked in a neuroscience lab for the last 3 years.

Does anyone know the exact date in December we find out?

As far as I know, colleges do look at your predicted (for IB candidates). Yale and UPenn came to my school last week and both of them said they definately consider your IB predicted along with all your other transcripts. As a matter of fact my college counsellor said IB predicted is pretty important for college apps.

My stats are something like
IB pred - around 40 (on 42)
SAT I - CR 650 Math 630 WR 760 (I know they suck I am regiving them in November)
Sat II giving Bio and English lit this saturday
School doesn't rank

EC's - 5 years of Model UN including two international(THIMUN). and student officer of local MUN for 1 year. 3 years on debate team. 3 7 km Marathon's, 5 years of school track events. On squash and badminton team for 4 years (semi-finalist district level in badminton), variety of community service including Palliative care for cancer patients, conducting social events for mentally challenged patients, film production, film appreciation club etc etc etc.

GPA: 3.95, top 10%
SAT: (will take on saturday) but 222/NMSF for PSAT... also a national achievement semi
SAT2: 740 (Bio-M), 750 (Literature), 760 (WH)
AP: 5.5.5.5.5.5.5.4
Race: black

ECs: student member of a county govt board; secretary for county-wide student government, winner of national chapter of the month for the JSA chapter I started at my school; FBLA state officer; Piano student/Chamber music at a really prestigious music school (lotsa awards); some community service things.... some more stuff.... lalalala

Hey Alfredeneuman,
Last year the results came out December 13th at 5pm EST. I suppose between the 12th to the 16th. Brown sent an email last year about a week before the results staying when they would come out.
I hope beyond hope I get an interview despite the fact that I am international!

Homework... essays... not having panic attacks... etc. It's been hot out here so I put my wallpaper to a photo of Brown after a really nasty-looking blizzard.

Oh I totally believe you ;). It's not like I almost took the viewbook and made a collage out of all the pictures to put on my wall before my mom stopped me. Something about "wanting to have pictures of the campus to show people when they ask about where I'm applying"...

the photos were top-notch. I spent about 30 minutes figuring out what direction the big inside cover ones were taken from and eventually oriented myself.

*raises hand
This year is way harder than last year academically for me. And then we add essay writing for college, and, well, I'm overwhelmed. And freaking out.

I feel SO unqualified about my application to brown.. UGH this pessimism and lack of confidence is killing me. Rosarita, yes, I'm getting really nerve-wracked here. I have to get the ED form signed (I know it's not hard but every SMALL step seems difficult for some reason) and start+finish supplement questions and the essay.. grr

I started a new thread, but people refused to reply, only put up chances... :-/

so here it is, PLEASE help me:

I am interested in applying to the PLME. I was wondering whether or not the letters of recommendation for the undergraduate school is different from the ones needed for the PLME. In other words, should I ask for recommendation letters for PLME in addition to the two required by Brown for undergraduate admission?

jsyoo7- i dont think so, but it'd be good to get rec. from teachers that can be related (at least a little) to your passion for the medical field... say science, but I guess english teachers can work too b/c they need to know u can write lol well, really, just have any teachers that can write good ones for you but I just dont recommend choosing teachers from subjects like history, foreign language, etc.

To all the people still working on apps, it doesn't get any better once you hit submit. Even though I put in as much work as I possibly could on the essays, there's always the regret that I could have written them differently. Mid december needs to hurry up and get here!!

I mean... once you hit send it's like a huge weight is lifted off your shoulders, for sure! :)
